7.41e Rosetta Wisps (core)

Introduction
This is my lazy version of this build. I've skipped a lot of the nonsense to just give you what I think is important about IO in 7.41e. Truth is, they're a carry hero. No if's and's or but's about it. The hero is simply an unskinned UNIVERSAL attribute monster (in mid or late game 2026 anyway) and we're going to take advantage of this truth. I personally am now like 6 or 7 games into my IO core spam, and while my match history ALMOST looks like Bloodseeker's bathroom, I assure you this build is very strong, and soon you too will fly on an emerald runway.
My experience of about a decade of amateur dota tells me that IO is one of those heroes that can both be spammed and provide such a flexible variety of responsibility that it can be more than a difference maker in each and every match. The goal is to quickly assess your goals, mark them in your plans and then execute with efficiency. This will give you both time and space to functionally act as a scary powerful farming / damage dealing hero while merely appearing as a ball of light. How fool proof is that!
Let's wrap our introduction with a thanks to a few beautiful contributors to my build.
First there is the in-game guide published by Dota 2 player, publisher & Telegram user @yyarik339 in the Russian language. I've called my guide Rosetta Wisp for this reason, as I've sat deciphering great language to come to reasonably belief that they might be the most if not the most competent IO player around.
Secondly, Torte De Lini who as you may recognize famously published a guide for all 127 (as of 2026) heroes in Dota 2. I recently observed a great follow up guide to IO being appropriately labelled a core / carry hero. This made me very happy.
I'm trying to think of who deserves third place here most (without salt):
I think there are a lot of pro players who successfully demonstrated how functional / powerful this is in our recent showing of TI 15 (2026). Most notably one player comes to mind / many highlights on YouTube. Ana. Ana's great Ember Spirit isn't the only thing team Liquid feared (not including the upper bracket). Ana's IO both claps cheeks and brings us a little bit closer to understanding why we have a giant light ball in the sky at all times. It's just THAT good. I'm not saying I get it completely, but I kind of get it, so we're trying to make it digestible for those of you who join me on my journey around this reborn thang.
Items
I thought my introduction was funny and detailed enough. Now I HAVE to explain why these items, and you're probably expecting something like timings, goal setting, and what to look for / when.
No. no no. You're going to do the theory crafting for this portion alone. I'll remind you to read Aghs + Shard impact on IO specifically which should clarify the necessity for Helm early on. This is why we're rushing Helm, see? Because by your acquisition of helm you will be able to solo + stack ancients when required and farm numerous camps at ridiculous speeds. That just increases when you grab Aghs + Aghs shard.
The rest of the build is really up to you. At this point I'm really suggesting you commit to an auto-attack crit / attack speed style build, but I'm a menace to society. I like that title and I probably won't sell it for a chance on the grand stage. The most reliable of you will explore alternatives and have good backup / suggestions such as the boring reliance on mekanism or whatever "supports" build. Just build Daedalus and call it a night while your moonshard is stacked on your hero and their barracks look like Nevada after it's been bombed by "tourists".
My separate Purchase Order tabs are to represent possible different phases in the game. From early, to core, to mid / late, and then alternatives or suggestions. Please take your liberties with this guide and make something better because I'm really trying to top my only other build I've ever written for a dota hero. That was Terrorblade... now a guide for Wisp (IO) hehe.
Team Work
This is going to vary on your rank, not what you THINK or what you BELIEVE your rank to be. You'll notice this trend across many games, the MORE you PAY attENTION to the GAME the MORE your RESULTS vARY. basically, your best bet is to focus on your quality of work input. Output will begin to appear shockingly more and more similar.
You want me to be honest about what I've seen? I don't know where to begin. I've sat there and cussed myself out for an hour over letting their core free farm. I've within hours realized I could just ward their camps and choke their gold resources. I'm both of those players intertwined. Absolute garbage, and absolutely outplaying them. Your team work is going to depend on what you notice your team is willing to do, and what you're RELIABLY willing to do. Do you see 5 + sentry wards sitting in the shop? Go ward their camps. Why should they be allowed to stack or even farm 1 camp? Important questions for this game. A lot of players waste sentry on the lane itself. Nonsense. Since this game's map has become massively increased for team gold pleasure, your strongest asset as of 2026 is reducing the space the opposing team will have to work with. This guarantees they play into YOUR team's successes.
I got little else to say about this. Watch your mini map, use Left Click + drag on mini map to actively preview stuff. Remember... the logo of the game? lol
Summary
For your reading pleasure, I hope I got the formatting of any of this right. I think IO is a large aspect of this game that gets overlooked, both mechanically and in simple macro terms. You might notice with less distraction you begin to pick up more things about the game that might carry you through very stupid matches. I'd encourage you to share this guide with your friends, family, pet dog, whatever you can get to look at this intently. It's both a powerful guide, and a hurrah for a game enjoyed by hundreds of thousands for over a decade. I think almost 2 decades now? Are we at 3 decades yet? Gosh I feel young!
Special thanks to one of my favorite content creators and gamers, AdamF4Live (on YouTube and on Twitch TV) who've joined me on many journeys. I could not do this without them. Please check their stream link attached to the guide. Not sure I have convinced them to spam IO yet, but, you will enjoy their creations as I have enjoyed watching them pursue creating.
