I play bass guitar myself, so I know some bassists too. Guys like Jaco Pastorius or John Paul Jones would eat him for breakfast. It's not about: "Who will hit strings the hardest and the fastest". Trujillo's bass solos are mostly simple licks in E. Maybe he didn't show his full skill in a band like Metallica.

There are also bassists like John Deacon from Queen, who are playing not so complicated stuff, but they have great music feeling.

And about the Kirk Hammet... As I mentioned, I really love Metallica, I am their fangay (no regrets) since I was 14 and 'till today I simply love their music, but Kirk Hammet isn't an outstanding player, he isn't breathtaking.

Maybe you meant - one of the best bassist/guitarists, but top what? Top 10; top 100? That would change a lot ;).

Top 25 at most. turjillo is great simply due to the fact that he is able to keep up with the speed and accuracy needed to do songs like battery.

My personal fav guitarist has to be gilmour, but the true beast on guitar is Yngwie Malmsteen.Seriously check his music out.Literally so fast it's unlistenable.

the porcupine band was pretty cool, a bit unsettling, but cool.

A lot of you probably are familiar with this band for their single "Blue." But personally, this is my favorite song from them.
