Hey guys! This is a change we have been considering for a while, but have finally decided it's time to implement.

For a long time older DotA 2 guides were still relevant since the game focused on adding missing heroes instead of changing mechanics / items etc. These old guides were very in depth and helpful and it felt wrong to displace them despite not being updated in a long time.

However, the DotA 2 game space has changed, and Valve has added quite a few big gameplay updates that make older guides much less helpful to new players, so it's time to give newer guides a chance to shine!

As of this update, all guides created in 2017 will be placed at the top of the list, then ordered by score. This goes the same for 2017 builds, then 2016 guides, then 2016 builds, etc. (As a reminder, the requirement for a "guide" vs a "build" is 5000 characters)

So go forth guide authors! Now is your chance to claim the top spot for heroes that don't have as many updated guides. The listings may look bleak in some cases, but with the guide contest ongoing the listings should be filled out with new guides and builds. :)
