Hi there!

It's been a while since I've been browsing this forum (oh should I say that ?!) but I recently reached my 1000th hour of dota, and I've got something like 950 games played. Conclusion: I'm still a new player. Actually casual, but well here's my profile:

I can do "decently" with some hard supports like Dazzle, Omniknight, or Lich, but not really in a reliable way. Same is true for some "pos4" I've been trying like ES or Mirana.

And then I've tried the offlane (solo when possible) and I kinda manage some sort of "tanky-blinker-walking ult" (Tide, Magnus, Centaur, see the pic xD). Only exception is Weaver, I can't say why but I like him and I do some offensive plays with some success with him.

And finally, I suck at carrying. Any attempt have failed miserably, and I've got rubish win rate with the like of Qop, DK, Void (the latter played offlane more recently with no success either)

Sooo, that's where I am. No real idea on what to do next. Possible problem:

- Farming speed ?
- Teamfight sync (blink ult is easy, otherwise messy in TF?)
- Map positionning, I seem to have my tp scroll on cd when i need to use it, not be there for important fights and pick the wrong ones... dunno.

Here's my doabuff: http://www.dotabuff.com/players/164944622
Any help would be nice, any feedback, comment, and GLHF :)

Post a couple games from dotabuff which you think showcase your good side and your bad side.

I would say these ones:

http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/2484558839
Here I end up with a very low KDA with next to no kill contribution, although my team just crushed the opposing team. Typical game where I'm not at the right place at the right time.

More recently, I game where I enjoyed supporting with AA.

Such a hard warding battle here.

Not sure I ws offlane here, but certainly a Void game that didn't work

I only took my time to look over two games, since 3 of the links are the same.

In the QoP game, you really seem to wander around aimlessly wihtout doing things at all. You try to gank, wait too much, and then nothing happens. Even when you gank and it doesn't work out, try to adress the situation. Just go get a few jungle camps, farm up.

You should have also started with the dagger imo, I think you could have gotten blink in time for the Riki ganks, and dagger @level 1 helps you win the lane mid by a large margin.

On AA, you should have maxed Cold Feet first, because it synergises so well with Open Wounds. Lifestealer can just infest you, you Cold Feet some unsuspecting guy that runs for you, he pops out and slows them, voila, free kill.

Oops! My bad. Above quote with the correct links.

And yes basically I'm never quite sure whenever I should initiate a gank. I'm naturally cautious and that's why I tend to hold back (oh wait, that's why I like solo offlane xD). Assessing opportunities is probably something at which I'm worst. I do have less issues during laning phases.
As a support I don't have that problem, I just go in whenever the carry decides it.

Thanks also for pointing out the fact that I don't adapt my builds. This is true, I sometime ask myself if I should purchase a different item than my recorded build, I need to do that when levelling skills as well.

Try to think a bit freely, loose from your preset build.

Queue grandpa voice: Back in my days, we didn't have no guides or anything. We build stuff to our best judgement in Dota 1. That's how BoT Tinker rush was born (ty Merlini)

I'll check out the other games a bit later and swoop by with an edit.

Hey Wulfstan & readers,

I wanted to pop back around and tell you how things went these days.

Some good signals came from the last couple of games as a carry. I stepped into ranked more often, and surprisingly managed a good 15/5 W/L rate.
I worked on Legion Commander, who is easier to gank with, because your target is completely disabled by her ult. (As compared to QoP, who needs to build an item to do so). Plus LC is much more self-sufficient with her heal, and her wave-clearing A-skill.

I was really happy to see that I'm commended, sometime even more than once a game. That's brand new for me and quite enjoyable. Considering the swith from normal to ranked, the change from pos4/3 to carry, the win rate and the commends all at the same time, I'm really on a good mood atm.

Working on QoP, and Kunkka now. It's all going well.

See ya later
