oh... I usually don't need it... I see.

it should depend on the amount of regen he has, if he doesnt have much you get poison attack and harrass him hard and focus on denies very early so he doesnt get his bottle.
if he has a lot there is less use in harassing and more in farming.

I usually choose farm regardless because if you can get a good early game build in, then the harass will come with.

Viper is such a lane dominator that I usually prioritize harass over last-hits. I think Viper needs a level advantage more than he needs gold.

the thing is that if you can harass all his regen away before he gets his bottle you can snowball that into him being behind in farm A LOT.

As a Viper, you should harass the living hell out of your opposition.. It is a major part of why you pick the hero in the first place.. A Viper that farms passively and lets the enemy hero get farm is already losing half the game..

The Sven was awful, accounting for the first eight deaths (my first eight kills), so I really didn't see the need to focus much on harrass, knowing that an easy kill was easily gained.

Good job...build and items look good, but don't get too far ahead of yourself because your opponents where trash. But overall well done. Viper is nice because he is a pretty flat hero and no matter what, you kind of build the same all the way up to your Agh's. I always do Phase Boots to help with his slow movement speed but that is kind of a marginal detail. Heart of course is a great pickup but usually once I'm don't with Agh's I decide if I need to be more tanky or deal more DPS/they have evasion and decide between Heart and MKB.

If you are going midlane just learn your opponents and adapt your skill build. Nethertoxin is of course great for lasting hitting and a point in Poison Attack is necessary for harass but if you have an opponent who like Krob or Storm (or any opponent who has harass potential) consider maxing Corrosive Skin after a point in both your Q and W.

I personally start off with slippers and a circlet rush my aquila right away and never build a wand but again thats just a small detail but its a few hundred gold and as you progress you will realize that the sooner you build items on viper the better because he falls off really hard at the 30minute mark.

well then, this was a win for you because the other team was..**** but moving on.
Skill build has been gone over, also you should skill after you get to lane not before, for example if you do a 3 man gank mid at lvl 1 you will want your Q not your W.

As for items, I normally don't really like mech on viper but considering the rest of your team that's fine
I don't really understand the need for aghs, its not like you have a huge cooldown on ult anyway, its not like you have enough mana to spam it that much anyway, I really think aghs is stupid on viper.

The heart was the most confusing item choice here...just why do you have it. I think I would have much preferred to see a manta style, yasha is great early game and manta is really good on viper. However there are quite a few other items you might have got over heart. Manta would have been the best as it gives stats so you get a hp boost and other stats, it gives more damage with illusions and its harder to find the right one, it also gives you pushing power and in crucial moments you can purge **** like laser.

In conclusion: buy manta

Hope this helped

I disagree with Fleet...Viper is a poor Manta hero his DPS falls off so hard at the 30 minute mark which makes the illusions pretty much worthless. The one thing viper is good at through out the game is being tanky and picking up the heart greatly adds to that. Grabbing the mek is equivalent to grabbing a vanguard only better and cheaper. Agh's also increases the range and around the 20 minute mark mana shouldn't be an issue with him. Having the 12 second CD with the massive range creates a great initiation tool. I myself have pulled off 2-3 in a fight multiple times. Manta isn't a terrible item but I think it's kind of an old school choice and the money is better spent elsewhere.

You are right, manta is a very lackluster viper item. And yasha isnt good on him either.
