Yeah, I know the winners are randomly chosen, but...

I support the idea of minimal post or/and join date requirement. It would benefit those users, who are here not only for free items. Not that I am a beggar, or so. It just makes more sense.

It's like this: You have a forum for football (soccer) fans, and there is a similar contest. Prize is a signed shirt of, let's say... Diego Maradona. Users on that forum are of course hyped on this, but the shirt gets some random guy, who created account just for this event. Sounds cool? :)

Just FYI, this is a promotion event. Dotafire, Smitefire and Mobafire all alike do these things to get more visitors. If they happen to notice something interesting or stick around in hopes for another contest, they might stick around for a longer time and evetually become these regulars. It's all about promotion.

promotional events cannpt be biased in any way as it will defeat the purpose of the event itself.

Aww, how come there is no regular members on the list.

In my humble opinion, spending days and nights just to create an awesome hero in FoC: Winner gets nothing but a name in the hall of fame. Le wild people appears and posted his first post: Get a prize and disappeared.

Yes, FoC are an "unofficial" event, and it's just an event that let us all have fun (correct me if I'm wrong). And yes, maybe some people won the prize and stayed in here, but how many would stayed?

I'm not being an arsehole or thinking that I'm should be on the list, I'm just kinda feeling unfair. Contributing the internet by posting guides and sharing ideas and gets nothing, while some people purely participates an event, got the prize and ran away without even saying thank you or good bye.

@Janitsu
Yea that make sense, but IMO I would just take the prize and fly away, at least that's what I do.

One could argue that people may be more likely to stick around if the competition is good and aimed at regular members of the site, and contributors.

Floaters/lurkers may feel that they want to become more active in order to take part.
