Title says it all, i've taken to play supports lately, but in more than 50% of the games, that happens. The end result usually ends with their cores outfarming us and winning the game

Nothing. You lost. Why would he stay with you? Only chance you have is you actually ganking the enemy core so he stays behind as well.

He wants to get kills more than anything, since i roam quite a bit and keep setting up ganks at the early game. I manage to get a few kills for my team at the start, but end up losing cos the cores want to get kills more thean farm

I guess that one thing you can do is play Silencer, Necrophos, or a similar support that is capable of crossing over into a semi-carry late game. Attempt to do your job early, and if your hard carry is roaming then transfer roles. I've seen that work before.

Words of wisdom have been spoken here.

How to play support in pubs :

- help your safe lane carry get a good lane in the first 20 minutes of the game by pulling, harassing and setting up kills in his lane

- help your solo mid get a good lane in the first 20 minutes of the game by ganking his lane

- keep up your own farm while doing that by stacking and clearing jungle camps, and farming empty lanes while roaming

- Once the game goes past 20 minutes, watch both of them become useless feeders, and carry the game yourself.

You don't play support in pubs to have no items and get carried by your cores. Your play support un pubs for the challenge to carry your team with low farm. Anyone thinking otherwise is just kidding themselves. If you're not 20-2 with your blink-bkb-Aghs Crystal Maiden and well on your way to your Refresher Orb while both your safe lane carry and your mid are 0-10, you're not a good pub support :)

Just watch Bigdaddy/N0tail play support Meepo in competitive and soloing the enemy team ^^
