Updated

-Changed skill progression
-Changed the starting items.
-MoM nerf from 6.84 considered.

But I still think its a valid build though situational build.
And pubstomping in unranked or <3000 MMR Games.

For all the others pls check out the second build which offers you more traditional ways of playing TA.

I build Q as first, E next, Q again, W, max Q, max W, max E, R in between. First items: tango, iron branch x2. Bottle, phase boots, magic wand. Then blink dagger, desolator, Daedalus. I mid. I just got 17/2 or something. I've played 150 hours. Just saying <3

possibly add in that when detonating your psionic traps click on the trap and use the q key if you use lanayas sub ability she goes through an animation which slows you clicking and hitting q creates no such animation

one other thing if you are ta going mid and taking a rune it is often better in my opinion to grab refract first because most people see a ta and go for a kill the refract usually chases them away allowing an easy first rune

I really like this guide! It's meaningful and explains why you do everything. I don't find guides like this too often.

There are only a few problems I could see while using this guide. For example, choosing psi blades as first spell. This does give you range, but due to the small amount, refraction seems like the better spell, as mid will mostly be ranged heroes anyway.

Most of the items are good, and there can definitely be some good combos. I like that.

My biggest worry would be late game. She is not a hard carry, and after level 20 or so, can be quite worthless. What would you insist on later, as to keep benefiting your team?

I really loved this review. It's perfect for my skill level, and quite easy to use. I look forward to any other guides you will do.

P.S. Please make a guide on Storm Spirit for this general skill level. He's my favorite hero, but there aren't many simple-player guides like this one. Thanks!

Thank you very very much. Its amazing someone liked this guide even in its unimprovment form

(as i just realised that i have to click publish again and not just save to edit the guide properly...I wouldnt even realized it if i werent loged out and checked for comments)

THE GUIDE IS NOW UPDATED.

Yor comment rly motivates me ; ) And I already are planning for another guide. But sadly out of all my played Heroes Stormspirit is one of the least played and I rly lack the experience ; )

Most likely my next guide will be one for Shadow Fiend as he is my most sucessfull Hero. (Second best is Templar Assassin^^)

Thanks for taking my harsh criticism so well, I definitely came across as a uncompromising. While the idea of using Mask of Madness in conjunction with Refraction sounds enticing at first, it really isn't all that great even at lower tiers of play. Highly mobile heroes like Slark and Storm Spirit could care less about your Mask of Madness, a standalone MoM doesn't help you at all against their various escape abilities. Not only that, but TA doesn't value MoM life steal as much as other heroes, simply due to the fact that Black King Bar + Refraction bolsters her man fighting potential through the roof. I definitely bashed on this guide a lot more than I should have, and apologize for my rude behavior. Feel free to use this build in unranked matches, but consider picking up a value Yasha in place of MoM during competitive play.

Regarding the organization of your guide, it simply looks a little sloppy. Instead of informing readers using dashes, plus signs, and arrows, consider sitting down for a while and writing down full paragraphs. They don't necessarily have to be written intricately, but adding some depth to the experience could do you some good. Also, adding some actual gameplay pics here and there as opposed to the occasional web comic that you have sprinkled throughout your guide could make your guide more aesthetically appealing. Finally, the friends and foes section could use a bit of work as well. There are heroes without damage over time and true sight that counter her as well, and maybe explaining why each specific hero counters TA could help to make your readers more knowledgeable.

Again, thanks for being such a trooper and keep up the good work. As long as you can back up your position with evidence and such, anything goes man.

Wow I did not expected such a nice and motivating re-response. And i will gratefully took all of your useful advises.

As I constantly try to edit and improve this guide and to learn as much as I can. I tryed to reduce the amount of + and arrow sights and added some short explainations why and how those heroes can counter a templar assassin. Also I added Dark Seer and Phantom Lancer as another obvious counter to Refraction.
And I added a little map with icons for good trap positioning which is quite famous among other TA guides.

Also I added a straigth traditional build including Yasha

This is exciting as it is my first guide and I already know a ton of things which I will do different next time right from the start.

Ofc i accept your apology and I thank you alot.

With Mask of Madness which is the point of this guide u cant go Desolator mid game unless u dont want the lifesteal.Ofc if u build TA the normal way its THE item after Blink Dagger. BTW: I would be thankful to know how it could be organized specifically.

1. I would agree. you generally want to go into damage/ganking items to get bigger and more reliable Melds.

2. Buying a MoM on a TA is creative enough...

3. Yeah. It's quite useful, and is definitely a midgame item.

4. The guide is actually formatted quite well.

Thank you for your nice and still objectiv words.

So yeah, good guide. I'm not sure if you mentioned it, but the reason why Mask of Madness is semi-okay on TA is COMPLETELY because of Refraction. Since the +Dmg on Refraction comes to a total of 40/160/300/480, a little attack speed may come in handy. It scales quite a bit better than most nukes. Also, the percentage damage increase on you from Mask of Madness doesn't matter unless they have damage over time, because you'll be blocking it all anyway. Or, at least hopefully most of it.

Indeed I mentioned it and tryed to explain it. I edited it so it is now its own chapter and less likely to overseen. Thx.

I tried MoM on TA before this guide has been created and I will say that it is quite useful. I've always LOVED lifesteal so I like the idea with the MoM thing is very good.

1. MoM is not ideal on Templar Assassin. At best I would consider the item to be situational.

2. Your guide isn't quirky or creative, simply random and unorganized.

3. Desolator is anything but an ultra late game item. If you are competent at playing TA, you should be picking the item up anywhere between 20 and 30 minutes. The item can be useful late, but peaks early to mid game.

4. Read the formatting guide.
