Thanks for the replies guys, you have given me a bit to think about.

I like the idea of Nyx Assassin, but I'd be a bit worried about mana problems with him, would have to get used to proper shift queuing to make good use of him.

Tusk looks like he would be fun to play so will definitely look at giving him a go along with Lion. After seeing Ogre Magi in some pro-games going to give him a run out as well, that level 1 harass seems pretty good. Would going Boots of Speed first and getting Orb of Venom quick be a good way to start do you think?

I'll add you guys as well when I get back from work today.

For ogre i personally liked to go tango, stout shield, and 3 branch.

Rush soul ring and THEN get normal boots

Personal build, tho

Would get usually tranqs for better mobility, but u can go arcanes.

I also like to get blink atterwards, or force staff if you find that more appealing and more according to the situation

im sorry to say but i REALLY dislike that build.
you cannot delay your boots for so long.
but i guess you play pure lane support but ogre is not build to just do that.

the stout shield is not needed imo and much better spent on boots and sometimes orb of venom like he said.

Would have thought a Ring of Protection would have been better to start with. 9 armour at level 1 is pretty obscene.

I meant Boots of Speed and 2 clarities would be a good start if you were going straight into man mode harass. So play him semi-roaming to help keep opponents in check.

I think getting so much armor at LVL1 is overdoing it. I dont even think its very efficient that early into the game.
Since you also need to buy wards and/or courier. And possibly even sentries, and smoke of if you want to gank with another support.
Btw if you start with boots you will atleast need tangos. There is no use in getting clarities without HP regen.

Stout shield and ring of protection are mostly gotten stop damage from CREEPS. And since you are support you dont tank creeps that much.

Personally with an item build for Ogre Magi and you're playing a roaming role, I'd start off with Boots of Speed and a set of Tangoes purely for sharing them with your midlaner and possibly offlaner if not maybe Smoke of Deceit for a ganking. then following up with Orb of Venom for (hopefully) even more successful ganks.
Skill build wise, personally i like going first point into Fireblast then Ignite due to stun into slow with hopefully hitting them for moar slow.

Something that I have noticed is that with most roaming supports they go for Tranquil Boots + Soul Ring for health regen etween ganks and having more mana for stunning/slowing.

Hope this helps.
Your new diet for heroes; You will need 4 wards (cuz wards taste better), 1 set of tangoes, 1 mango, 1 cheese.
With this you can make a nice Tango Mango Cheese platter. You can wash this all down with a nice bottle of water, Can be flavoured with red, green, yellow, blue, purple AND GOLD!
Caution: Taking roshan 3 times is required.
