I played a game today, in which I rushed arcane boots. I then rushed an aghs, and by the 25 minute mark (because farming is hard on treant) I was warding. By the time the game was over, I had the ENTIRE MAP WARDED. We had vision of every hero on the enemy team at all times, unless they were in their fountain.
This also meant that in a team fight, I could cast my ult and globally ensnare every hero on their team, even if I was nowhere near the enemies. Doing this will literally win your team games, because any time an enemy wanders off to farm, you can gank them easily. Any time the enemy team goes for rosh, you'll know about it. Any time the enemy even so much as steps out of their base, you'll know about it.
This is the true value of treant.

The other way of boosting your farm is filling in other lanes while other heroes are absent - say your mid is roaming. You've got good base damage so last hitting is pretty easy. Obviously try to do creep pulls when appropriate and farm the neutrals.
After the last patch,
Been playing him the last few ranked games around 3K mmr.
I do have one question. Getting farm is sooooo hard on him. Especially in a trilane where you are the last one that should be claiming last hits.
What I normally do then, is take the moments nothing is happening in the game to jungle a little bit close to my carry, but jungling goes sooooo slow on him, and with the wrong creeps in the camps, they can take away more than half of your hp. (I use leech seed to heal me and damage the creeps a little) Any tips on how you normally gain farm when playing treant?
Yesterday I had a solo support role….had manaboots at 20 minutes. Also I would add 1 point in nature's guise if you want to play an agressive lane. This way you can get behind your opponent, your carry will know earlier what you are trying to do and after you cast it you can block the hero that wants to run back while the carry keeps hitting. Incoming FB.
I would add Clinkz to good allies, though, becuase he relied on huge burst damage from nowhere, but he has super low HP. Leech seed is perfect for clinkz becuase he can heal while ganking, and you can heal him with living armor when he gets out.
The offlane build is something of an example, against a properly structured trilane they probably will have
Maxing out
