Me and 4 of my other friends played in a game where I was a safelane Medusa with an Earthshaker against an offlane Luna and a roaming Witchdoctor at one point. We got a double on them, and things were going well at the bottom lane. However, top was feeding (Omniknight wasn't that good because he's still a newbie) and our Puck was experiencing latency issues, giving the enemy PA some farm. We sort of held mid game, but when it got to the 40 minute mark, their carries reached their peaked and ****ped on my teammates, then pooped on our team in a teamfight, taking our mid rax in the process. But I was persistent.

"We can still win," I said, "the longer he game goes, the better it is for us. Our opponents should be getting really cocky right now." Earlier, Earthshaker started BMing the enemy team, so I figured that the enemy team would try to make their victory an overwhelming one, such that they'd do dumb things just to achieve the satisfaction of dissing my friend.

Then it happened:

Roshan has fallen to the Dire
Phantom Assassin has denied the Aegis of the Immortal!

"We don't need Aegis to win" remarked the proud PA, smugly.
"That was it!" I said to my friends, "play safe and look for good fights, we can win this!"

5 minutes later, we steamrolled them in a pretty one-sided teamfight/slaughterfest. 15 minutes later, we teamwiped them and directly pushed into their ancient and won the game.

Moral of the story: don't count your chickens before they've hatched.

Late game Medusa is insane, unless the enemy itemizes or picks against her.. It's funny how people think when Phantom Assassin is a late game carry.. In my opinion, she is more of a mid game carry, much like Lifestealer is.. She really falls off once the enemy carry has a Monkey King Bar and the enemy supports get a Ghost Scepter so she can no longer one shot them..

I also noticed that their Luna was terrible.. Shadow Blade on a Luna?! Overall, your team itemized better, in my opinion..

Speaking of Medusa games, by the way, this was one of my games, in which I played Medusa, and we were playing 3v5 from about the 7th minute into the game.. http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/710626151

It was an insane game, more significant, because it was my first ever game on a Medusa. That day, I learned, don't let a Medusa get to late game..

Once i played medusa, had really bad early and mid game. After some time we had 2 lines lost, i have 5 slot+rapira. Enemy team pushing us - we kill them, they cant end game, but i cant leave my base against hard split pushers (they had furion and one more pusher, i dont remember).
So we lost trying to push at least 1 lane =(

see this game.

I had a second rapier in courier incoming.

Exactly the same thing happened that i was 1v5 them.
All the game whole team dies , i survive and all my mates die. they just wont try to stand behind me and help.
The idiots tried all game to initiate fightsthey know they wont win, then i have to rush to THEM whoop the enemies *** and return to base cause they had mega creeps.
Eventually, these idiots of teammates came around to sticking at base but they still would initiate fights. Why we can just def indefinitely!!!
Two rosh attempts later, the enemy came and my team mates fought in one of these idiot initiations where they all die while i am defing solo because of mega creeps and then i kill the enemies when they come to throne or kill me.

A spate of comments came at all chat, "medusa let us end your team is a failure"
"we commend you, just let us end. aside from you, your team deserves to lose"
And i was losing my patience with this team who wont listen to my CAPS LOCK messsages-

" stay at ancient we dont have towers left. We fight when they come wipe them then push"

So i traded a loss for 5 commends crawled back to the base they whooped these idiots ***es and won.

And then started the rage. They frikkkin shouted to report me 'potang ina bobo' and whatnots. I simply said"this team deserves to lose. you dont deserve a carry who has farmed two rapiers and tries to def solo while you engage in idiotic skirmishes. I dont want to clean up your mess."

lookit that silencer.That silencer.

Literally competing with Queen of Pain for hero damage there.

Cocky little ***** thought that pa would carry them to victory. To be honest, their Invoker was a very good player.I felt bad for him towards the end. They fed themselves on the Silencer, who nearly contributed 50 % of the total kills .Me and QoP were noping the **** out of fights and farming. At about 50 minutes, suddenly we drop the hammer.Full teamwipe, complete disaster for them. One thing leads to another and we win the game <3

Medusa is pretty much THE late game carry. Given enough space and time to farm she can 1v5 an entire team in the late game. Plus that Monkey King Bar probably ****ped hard on their PA.

also if this is going to be a post about Medusa games.

Random Medusa Game

And yes, that is a Divine Rapier on Pudge :P
