Kalish, The Dark Paladin

Radiant Intelligence Melee

Lore

The Knights of the Holy Order were no more. Their secret was out, and the means of it reaching the ears of the unworthy was most destructive. The dark mass slowly encompassing the area grew ever more powerful. The knights who were lucky enough to be away from the devastation looked onward with grim fascination. One turns towards the others. "You know what we must do to keep this from destroying our mortal plane." The 3 lesser knights nodded. Kalish looked back towards the darkness. "As your superior, I must command you to restrain me by any means if it corrupts me." And with these last words to his brothers, he pulled a small booklet out of a bag at his side, held it open, and silently walked towards the entity they had sworn to keep secret, to keep suppressed. And with his final breaths in this realm, he swiftly bit his hand and stained the pages of the booklet with his own blood, and threw it into the darkness. He takes a final glance of the world around him, and proceeded to throw himself into the dark entity. And just like that, he and the entity merged into one corrupted soul, and suddenly burst into existence elsewhere. Kalish, the Dark Paladin, opened his eyes.

Q: Corruption(CHANNELING)

After channeling for 2 seconds, the Dark Paladin intentionally loses control of it's darkness, damaging random enemy units around itself for random amounts of damage while reducing their damage. Corruption can only damage units up to 3 times. Corruption hits invisible units.
AOE: 800

Reduction duration: 5
Manacost: 100/125/150/175

W: Unholy Blessing(ACTIVE)

The Dark Paladin blesses an allied hero, granting it health regeneration, lifesteal, and extra damage. Extra damage is based off of base damage and main attribute.
Range: 400

Damage: 5/10/15/20%
Duration: 7/8/9/10
Manacost: 80/90/100/100

Kalish binds an enemy hero, stunning them, slowing them, amplifying magic damage against them, and dealing small amounts of damage. Magic amplification is part of the slow.

R: Corrupt Shield(ACTIVE)

The Dark Paladin surrounds an allied unit with reflective shields, each one absorbing an instance of damage and returning it to the unit that dealt it, while granting health regeneration. Shields cannot be destroyed by low amounts of damage, but will still reflect it. If all shields are destroyed, HP regen is halved. Upgradeable by Aghanim's Scepter

Health regen: 25/50/75 (30/60/90*)

CD: 100/80/60 (80/60/40*)

Notes

So my idea for this hero was a support who could scale very well into the late game while being a great hero for ganking with nukers early on. His ult is good on initiators and carries, reflecting damage(I honestly can't tell how balanced this is, it depends on the other team. Heroes like lion will pretty much kill themselves, while Venomancer will just sit there cackling with strong enough DoT to break the shields.) Also, his first skill was made to go with his ult better, reducing damage of those near him

So, critique me please.

I like this hero, a good support.

So I don't know if I've got this right, but at level 3 of ult there are 20 shields which all reflect damage? If I have got this right there doesn't really seem to be a way to combat the shields other than waiting around for the duration to end.(Unless you can destroy multiple shields at once?) I don't know if any of this makes any sense (what I just said :P) But I've probably got everything wrong ;)

If you would correct me that would be cool.

Otherwise a nice hero!

I think its supposed to be something like a combination of Blade Mail and Refraction

Yeah, I think of it as a combination of Chemical Rage, Blade Mail, and Refraction. Its one of those skills that is extremely powerful against some line-ups, but rather useless against others. But, its still a bit too powerful. Im thinking of how to nerf it right now.

An obvious one is to reduce the amount of shields. Making the cooldown longer would work too.

Make corrupt shield increase lifesteal, and remove the regen. Also gives unholy blessing increased lifesteal and remove the passive regen.

Ulti is far too OP against certain heroes, not every game you can have chen or PL or veno to melt away the shields.
I am the Abaddon *****!!!

The ultimate would definitely be a bit too powerful against heroes such as drow. Her damage peaks at 200+ so she would kill herself instantly. :s

I think I'm going to make it reflect half of the damage, last a smaller amount of time, and up the regen a bit to compensate for less time. I won't make it give lifesteal, simply because its also supposed to be able to be cast on structures, such as casting it on your ancient in a really close game to potentially make a comeback.
Anyway, I do feel like changing Unholy Blessing to not give HP regen but do give more lifesteal is a fine idea.
