Tusk has been picked off and on to different levels of success. I think the last time I saw him was in a DK vs EG match during Beyond the Summits LAN event.

He's a very situational pick teams use to surprise the other teams. Yet overall somewhat lacking in the current meta.

His snowball is great for initiating, theorhetically, but its so easy to dodge, and so easy to punish bunched together heroes. He pretty much becomes a walking aoe slow. His ultimate can pay for itself in smoke ganks, and hes great at punishing bad position and temporarily creating it. As an initiator there are better choices, as a ganker, same. Alliance also picked him with varying success earlier in the year.
Step 1: Pick Bristleback
Step 2: type in all chat:"GL hf"
Step 3: solo offlane
Step 4: first blood triple kill solo vs trilane
Step 5: continue head butting keyboard
Step 6: don't care, Bristleback doesn't give a ****
Step 7: screenshot repeated: BB OP comments in all chat
Step 8: alternate games with Slark pick

The main use for Snowball is to save Allies and counter-initiate. You can get within Range of them, Snowball then suck them in the Snowball while they're Stunned. It's not as reliable as Disruption, but it can work on an entire Team, so if you need to buy time while Ravage wears off, there's nothing better than Snowball for keeping your Allies safe.

The problem, you're all grouped up afterwards 8{(
