Just curious. I was reading on Reddit what people were saying about it.

"If they kept solo-queue only in the pool then instead of going from 1 pool to 2 pools, you would go from 2 pools to 4 pools. Now you have 4 different pools you can choose from before you even choose language, server, or game mode. Well that's ****ed up: if you're high rated the chance of getting a good game within the preferred 5 minute wait time Valve has is close to 0 so the games would end up pretty imbalanced."

"Introducing Ranked and keeping solo-queue only would generate many more matchmaking pools than is healthy for balanced matchmaking."

I think since they removed Solo Queue my game experience is ruined. This goes for others to. I had more wins rather than losses when there was Solo Queue. But now it's just right the opposite. I get more losses than wins. First I'm on a wining streak, then the next match I'm on a losing streak. It's like I can't get anywhere near. I'm sick and tired of it.

I'm stuck between 3.7k and 3.4k. Just rising and falling. Just the moment when I reach 3.7k and I say "Man only 300 to go for 4k" and Valve is like "Not today ***********er".

I've read posts on Reddit saying "Pls bring back Solo Queue" and Valve is like:

"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."

I must admit that I'm not exactly sure how the queue'ing (queue'ing/queueing ?) works. I usuaully only play with my 5 stack. I would appreciate if some knowledgable member would explain the issue.
Sorry if this isn't the correct thread for this. Not trying to Hijack.

Can you post the link to the discussion? It sounds intersting...even if it won't lead anywhere... ._.

Honestly, Matchmaking isn't that balanced, so I wouldn't mind longer waiting times. Especially if you could only select 1 Language, an 2 Server Regions max! I can't help but think that this would improve Matchmaking much more than bringing back Solo-Que.

To put it simply (and quickly cos I have no attnetion span right now 8{3 ), you have a number assigned to you that estimates your skill level, everyone has a number like this, i.e. MMR. You also have a number that estimates your skill level when in a party. This number doesn't care who or how many you're paired up with. If you're in a group with 1-5 other people, this is the number used. If you're alone, it's the first number that is used.

When searching for a match, your number (the relevant one), is taken into consdieration for matchmaking, so when 10 players of a similar enough Rank are found, they're split into 2 groups of 5 forming relatively "equal" parties. The strength of each party is determined by the average (not sure how this is calculated exactly) of all the members on that team.

When the game is over, the winners gain points and the losers lose points. The amount of points is the base amount of points +/- a modifier based on the difference in estimated strength between the 2 sides, e.g. if Radiant win and they're determined to be "weaker" than Dire, Radiant gain more points, while Dire lose more points.

Ok, so I guess I understood more than I realized, cuz I knew all that. So, then what is everyone complaining about now. Being that everyone is always complaining about matchmaking, and is correct to do so, for the most part. IMHO

I don't think like that. Still here's a thread on Dota 2 Dev about bringing back Solo Queue
Solo Queue - Click Here
85,50% are for bringing back Solo Queue (I'm one of them) and 14,50% are against Solo Queue.

I really don't know how much impact it has on results. I mean sometimes I'm matched with a really nice, really good stack. Other times I'm matched with terrible teams who don't even draft together (pick good heroes who have synergy) let alone play well together. I've always felt that it kind of evens out. Some you just write off as losses others are ez wins.

I did go on a massive losing streak though. Around the start of April. What's strange is I noticed many other people on this forum and others reporting similar things. It was just after they banned out a load of smurf accounts. I thought it could have been that. But really I would just like to think it wasn't just me playing terribly, but it probably was.
