As many of you know there are a lot of guides that are actual guides with in-depth explanation as how to play a hero or use a misc function. Also you may have noticed there are guides with just items and skills (builds). A lot of people don't like builds because it doesn't give reasoning or explain how to use the content presented; however, I'm sure there are some people who understand a hero and just want to use a certain skill and/or item build.

I propose that there be a definitive section for Guides and Builds and not mashed together in the current guide section, that way those who want guides and those who want builds can find them easily and also not step on the toes of people who simply just want to show off a build rather than an explanation for the hero. Some including myself often are disappointed by a "guide" with no words and only item/skill builds, but I see the use for a build rather than a guide that's why I'm proposing a section split for the two.

TL;DR: I think there should be a section for guides and a section for builds.

What do you guys think?

I agree there should be some kind of distinction between the two. Just some kind of label below the title or something so people can tell what they will be looking at.

We do this on MOBAFire by requiring a minimum amount of text (5000 characters including bbcode) to be written before you are considered a guide. Anything below that and you are considered a build. We've discussed bringing this to DOTAFire, it's simply a question of when. When the volume of guides showing up gets high enough, it will be worthwhile adding such a cutoff, but we don't want to do it too early at the risk of hurting the site's growth.
