Hello, I have been playing DOTA2 for a while recently, and gain some experience and feelings about it. I am about 30 and have a family but that doesn't prevent me having some fun out of it, just like someone else like playing golf. But very disappointingly, i found DOTA2 has a huge inherently loophole in its matching and quitting system, someone can just freely quit the game without getting deserved penalty. You can image when you play basketball, one of your teammate just leave and what will happen next 4vs 5. In dota2, this case will went worse than that since there is a snowball effect which will exponentially benefits the enemy team. So, and so, i decided not play any pub game solo unless there is an added friend available.

I know it is only a game, people in real life have issues, they have to leave. Really? a planned people will have a schedule. I won't start a game when my kid is around or my work is still one because that's just stupid. If someone get any sense of responsibility will not start a game and quit in like 5 minute, not matter how good/bad the game goes. Valve need to give much harder penalty to those who deliberately quits. Low priority is not good enough since that just give them chance to do it again. There should be like a load of queuing waiting time for those rage quitters.

as said, i played not very long but have a good control of it, got not bad win rate. I will finish what i started. I will not mic but i will communicate with typing and pointing. I am in VA and usually play at night after 8 if condition permits. So add me if my post meets your favor.

As much as I agree that people abuse the leaving system, I disagree that there should be further punishment.

I've got two abandonments to my name, and one of which was when I had to help my mother up the stairs to my flat when she was feeling ill, and another time was when my sister's car was stolen from outside my flat.

Issues occur, and you can bet if something was to happen again I'll incur another abandonment because at the end of the day, my family matter more to me than 4 other people playing Dota.
