I've been playing a ton of dota the last few weeks, until I learned of the 3rd person action RPG "Dark Souls". It's a bit older now and I must've been too into skyrim to check it out or maybe I'm just living under a rock who knows, this game is outstanding.

It's a throwback to the days of challenging games that tilt into the realm of unfair at times, and this one is brutal, kill 3 or 4 skeletons in the beginning area and all of a sudden two shank you from behind and you're dead..that's the tutorial too.
Highly recommended game. It's older and there's a sequel coming soon, the game is open ended and forces you to solve everything yourself, discover what goes bump around that dark corner, and draw your own conclusions to a briefly told background with surprising depth.

The PC version is a console port is on steam but you may want a controller for it, the keys and mouse suck for this game, much better on PS3 or 360.

Step 4: first blood triple kill solo vs trilane
Step 5: continue head butting keyboard
Step 6: don't care, Bristleback doesn't give a ****

i love this game although i havent finished yet. its so difficult that I didnt played it for months twice. But nothing makes more fun to finish an area included the boss in 15 min(blighttown for example) at the first try with a new character where i used to waste 4h to find out where to go first.

I started with a knight and got bashed when the Taurus demon dropped from the sky surprised me and crushed me lol I switched to a pyromancer and it was MUCH easier, ranged characters are so much friendlier to play than melee. I mistakingly unlocked a door with the master key in the burg and got 1 shorted by a door with a huge hammer, I had to walk away from that one haha

It's just one of those games where you absolutely need to take a break and go back at it afterwards, not for the faint of heart

I did that, forgot the menu didn't pause the game and attacked Andre of Astora. Luckily managed to pay off my sins but it was a definite "OH ****!" moment XD
