Everyone is creepy early game. Omni can heal just two times or wd can q skill just two times cause of lack of mana. No sense to magnum this as it applies to all heroes.

P.S. A tip on the side:
When you play blink-dagger Slardar (my preferred build), the range on Amplify Damage is 700 while the range on blink is up to 1200. That means as a general guide it's useful to remember that you should almost always be able to amplify someone, then blink in front of them and crush (important because amplify makes the crush do more damage).
Obviously don't do this against heroes with an easy escape (i.e. Antimage, QoP, Storm).

Not a bad guide at all. I disagree with some of the prioritizations, but overall it looks fine. Only really big disagreement is the idea that "Slardar should have nothing to do with Roshan". Any minus-armor works wonders to bring down Roshan quicker and Amplify Damage is the strongest single-target minus-armor in the game! That doesn't mean he is on the same level as Ursa or Lycan in terms of solo-ing Roashan, but it does mean that you can go for very early Roshan's together with your team (espcially with summons to tank like treants) - all the more when you are dire side (just make sure someone breaks the spellblock first).

I guess it can be categorized under situational, but then again normally I take the top or bottom lane so my supporter will normally get Medallion of Courage so there's no need for me to take one.

In pub, you can grab one for yourself though.

+1. What about Medallion though? Even more armor reduction plus mana regen is always a must for me.

Would lion be considered a foe as early game his mana drain can cause more pain than kotl and AM as AM seldom harasses that much(not to forget he will most likely be in other lane) and well kotl never takes the mana drain b4 lvl 10, but lion usually takes mana drain early to feed himself.
Just saying, might be a worthy include :3
All over a great guide, slardar is also one of my favs. Overall an upvote :)

I've personally had quite a bit of success using a Force Staff to initiate with Slardar. Just a possible Blink alternate.

Seriously? Thanks for pointing that out. Still, getting HotD is still better as an initiator. The minor +5 hp regeneration can aid you early on and can be upgraded to satanic. Since attack speed of Slardar is increased greatly by Mael or AC, you can regenerate all missing hit points with the active.

Instead of using Vladmir's Offering like in my previous build, as an initiator I would prefer to use Helm of the Dominator simply because it gives your armor. As as initiator, you need to soak up the damage so having a thing that can give you armor is quite good. When upgraded into Satanic, you can grantee you can't die during initiating.

Vlads gives u the same armor as Helm does

Hey, got to say I love the guide and have been using it to get some practice in with Slardar, as he is a character I always loved the idea of, since minus armour is bloody brilliant.

However there is one part of your guide I strongly disagree with, and that is on the matter of Roshan. Slardar is quite well suited to doing Roshan, solo or with a single partner. If you go for the Treads + Drums + Armlet build on Slardar then at level 11 you are pretty much set for taking Roshan. You have attack speed to proc your bash, a 2.5 second stun every 8 seconds and a huge armour reduction with your level 2 ult. Disabling Roshan's Linkens effect is more annoying on your own, since you have to waste your first ult on him each time to break it. Either that or have a partner dispel it. However, with his bash and pretty decent physical damage (especially when you consider that his stun gets amplified by his ult and now with 6.78, his bash is physical damage, so is also amplified), he can really churn down Roshan really easily.

However, that is just my opinion on him. I have yet to play him in more than a couple pubby games but from my observations playing him, he does have the skills to take Roshan in the mid game. Overall though, great guide. ^^
