Mask Of Madness or MoM for short is a Poor MAns Rapier

It gives you a lot of damage but getting killed becomes very easy. Recently I have noticed that many people buy MoM. I was wondering just what heros should get a MoM. The only hero I think you could buy MoM is Faceless because of his backtrack but that is situational at best.

The players that I have seen getting MoM are not limited to Faceless Void, Spirit Breaker, Drow Ranger, Alchemist, Lone Druid, Sven and Sniper.
My lone druid starting items are 12 Iron wood branches, 6 for the hero and 6 for the bear. Even if the bear does not get stats more twigs are OP on any hero.

yeah
it really depends on how the game is going, if the enemy has bad DPS or if u have very good dps then its an amazing choice as the lifesteal by ur fast attack speed or dmg makes up for it so most likely any hero who can survive with the lifesteal is a viable option, i love running it on lifestealer for trolling :P

Any burst dps auto attacking hero. Personally I feel that any of the STR heroes are better off with an Armlet though, you may not get the same crazy attack speed, but you do gain a lot of damage, bulk, and still a mediocre amount of attack speed.

enchantress is quite good with MoM as well as an aghanim's scepter because she scales very well with attack speed. it does make her very squishy however and it does require quite a bit of farm.

This item build for Enchantress is not really recommended since you should spend the gold for buying Mask of Madness into something else. Furthermore, the Lifesteal it provides does not stack with Impetus. Scythe of Vyse or Orchid Malevolence is far more better.

Back on topic: Heroes that are good with Mask of Madness include, but are not limited to: Heroes with a Bash like Faceless Void, Slardar, Spirit Breaker and arguably Sniper; Heroes that benefit from bonus attack speed but are tanky enough to sustain the bonus damage like Sven and Alchemist; and Heroes with extreme high amounts of damage output that they almost do not feel the bonus damage received because of the Lifesteal like Drow Ranger and Phantom Assassin.

Why would you buy MoM on alchemist or phantom assassin

I think this item is terrible with no exceptions.

Like cool you catch 4 in a sphere. What happens when the QoP ultis you and you don't backtrack? Or what if you *don't* catch everyone.
Feel free to check out my guides for Spectre, Dragon Knight, Siren, Medusa, Sniper, Disruptor, or Void. They're pretty cool.

Very situational - it can actually provide a good escape if you see the enemy coming and the movement speed will get you away. It's also great for bash heroes like Spirit Breaker who can possibly perma-stun with enough attack speed so not get hit anyway.

However, it is a double edged sword - it can get you killed as easily as it gets you kills.

It's best on anyone that has procs or hits really hard, but also has the survivability to sustain the extra damage you will receive. Some heroes that benefit from it are:

Faceless Void: During the limited time in your chrono, you are practically invulnerable so the extra damage really doesn't matter, and on top of that it will proc your imba bash more.

Spirit Breaker: Procs his bash more, good since he is really tanky and has a low attack speed by default.

Sven: He hits incredibly hard, you can with a teamfight in just a few swings so you can make them as fast as possible.

Etc. Etc.

That's why Mask of Madness is only a situational pickup and it is mainly used in pubs, in which these heroes dominate.
