Hey Guys,

I just installed my new Geforce GTX 660 but it runs Dota 2 not much better than my old Geforce 8500 GT was.

Would this possibly be because my 2.9GHz Dual Core Intel is bottlenecking? I thought as I could run everything at 720p low settings with the exact same setup (aside from GPU) that a GPU upgrade would make much more of a difference.

So I suppose my question is if I wanna play 1080p at high settings what is the minimum CPU I'll need?

Thanks in advance guys :)

Pretty much yes, if you want to upgrade your pc I suggest a balanced over-all upgrade if you have older procesor/gfx. Also if it is a dual core I presume you have a 775 socket LGA so that means the highest procesor you can get on the motherboard is an core 2 quad. They are pretty nice and it will run it better possibly at max for sure, but I highly recommand getting another motherboard with higher socket (1155 for an I3/I5/I7 intel or AM3/AM3+ for The A xxxx series or FX xxxx series) to balance your PC rig. But I still wonder how a 2.9 GHz Dual is not capable enough. I would like to know your other specs from your PC for a more accurate awnser.

Have fun and enjoy the game.

I don't know that much about Windows 8, I cannot go into further details it's not my line of work but the cpu is high end, you could try windows 7 if you have it but that's all I can say, the motherboard is great same goes for the CPU and GFX and ddr3 4gb is more than enough. OS reinstallment is what I'd do next.
