"Valve has taken the stance that all player statistics should be private by default. This means that Dotabuff only has access to your statistics when you manually enable it.

In order to enable statistics, please take the following steps:

Open the Dota 2 game client
Click the Settings icon
Navigate to "Game", then to "General"
Set the "Share Match History" setting to "On"



After changing this setting, your future games will appear on Dotabuff!"

Well, it will still be kind of a slow trickle of statistical information, as a lot of people still wont know about this.

Glad they implemented a choice factor into public stats. I really don't like it when people stalk my stats to try and troll me/ flame me.

I like my stats being available and I like others being able to see them. It's a great way to keep track of performance. There's no reason it should be permanently private unless you want it to be private.
