I realize there is a list of the latest posts on the homepage bottom left, but I feel it is really cluttered and more of a hindrance than a useful tool. Is it possible to add a drop down from the forum tab with a "new posts" sub-tab? With a forum layout of the new posts in which threads they were updated in, I think it would look alot cleaner and be less of a headache to sort through. Just a suggestion.

The homepage discussion is there to give people a general idea of what is currently being discussed on the site.

So what you want is a forum feed like on the homepage with all forum threads in one place, so it's not mixed in with guide/database comments?

Yes, maybe quick tabs on the right where the news feed is now, and we can click on guides, heroes, etc.

just an idea, might look much better in my head XD

The news feed that is there now works really good for someone who is pretty active but someone who hasn't been on the site in two days or so, they might be confused i guess.

Well for the forum, you have the read/unread indicators to help catch up. We have discussed something similar for guides and such in the past but haven't had time to iron it out yet. Will give it some thought!

The only site that I have seen use something like this and it was extremely handy, is the Firefall Forums. It only tracks the post of the developers, but something like that for all members and in the condensed form you guys have it in now, would be superb later on down the line.
