Idea:

Consider a scenario where your team is favored to lose and the others is obviously favored to win.
Now what if one of the main carries on your team ends up with so many more deaths than kills and it's so negatively impactful that it also leads to the enemy team receiving all 3 mvps. This actually happened to me in a game the other day.

I don't know which team was favored to win, but what if it was our team that was favored to lose? Well we just went through this whole game where our carry had a huge but terrible score. Note, the higher the numbers the more negative the impact. Now isn't it possible that an argument could be made that his intention may have been to make the lives of his team miserable? And what if he's doing it because he's upset about merely his string of bad luck of being on teams that are favored to lose? On the other hand, what if it was just that the enemy team played that well as a team?

Isn't this problematic and can't it be addressed? What if us as the losers in that game could each individually make an argument that valve is intentionally imposing bad luck upon us?

So why not decrease the mmr loss for our team in this scenario by 2/3rds and increase the mmr reward for the enemy team by 2/3rds. Why 2/3rds? Because it's favorable enough that it incentivizes and our culture feels strongly that losers must still lose and winners must win. Well with that attitude, couldn't we say that individuals of the unfavored team should be de-motivated from aiming to bring their team down, and winning teams should be incentivized to continue to keep winning with superb team play?

I might have this backwards or not fully explained.

What if the guy who's had a string of previous teams that were favored to lose, now ends up on a team that's favored to win and tries to ruin it for everyone?

So the team that's favored to lose, ends up winning with such superb team play that they get all the mvps. And the team that's favored to win ends up losing because of the negative impact from and individual carry or two.

This should be a circumstance where the team that was favored to lose receives +66% mmmr which is also taken away from the mmr of the losing team.

So now the meta becomes one where unfavourability is actually an opportunity.

And favorability to win, doesn't end up being so stressful if your game happens to start out bad.
