I was wondering if you be kind to look at my channel. As I am very new but am having trouble getting my head around this game, but I will keep trying until I get it. Any constructive advice would be very much appreciated..

How very rude of me. I forgot a to introduce myself.

I am Mindcrome, I was primarily a console player up until a year ago and mostly game on the PC now. I started about a week and a half ago playing DOTA 2, and so far I having fun, even as a unskilled player. I sota have a mentor but I like input from more players. Right now I have been using The Queen of Pain only and will at some point learn other heros.
After this weekend's run of games I would like to learn how to play more off-lane.

Hi mate, welcome to Dota Fire!

I gave a quick look at this game and you can see that indeed you're just starting into the game. Please understand if most people here have more difficulty helping you then, because most of us have been playing for years and it get's hard to get back into the basics.

Anyhow, I would suggest you read this two guide:

1) Beginners' guide on Dota Fire: http://www.dotafire.com/dota-2/guide/learning-the-ropes-a-beginners-guide-to-dota-8

2) Purge's guide (one of the most famous dota content creators and a good teacher of beginners): https://purgegamers.true.io/g/dota-2-guide/

In Purge's page you will also find videos that will help you get started.

It's easier to help you if you start exploring these guides and then come back to us with questions. I would also suggest you creating a Dotabuff (http://www.dotabuff.com) account for free and sharing it here, it helps us getting input in what you're doing better as well.

Good luck!

Thank you for your kind reply! I been going over the guide you linked and already see where I need to make changes in my gameplay. Hopefuly this will put me on the path of better lane control. I know of lately I was pushing the lane too much at too low a level. Now I see why the other players in my games where falling back early in the game while I was pushing forward and dying to much.

Thanks again!

So I want to say The guides mentioned above have been really helpful. If you are a new player and are reading this post check them out. I believe they help me end my 7 game losing streak, well my team helped a whole lot too. ;)

Now these are the the problems I am having:

I am not leveling fast enough. I seem to get stuck at level 14. I am not sure if it is that if I die to much or I not getting the right items at the right time in the game.

It could be both. QoP is a very mobile hero, abuse this. Either force kills with your team with a couple smokes, or just blink around in the jungle farming with Scream of Pain.
