The new Riki works exactly as the old one did. Literally nothing changed about his build and playstyle. Same item build (rush diffusal + orb of venom), and skill build is pretty obvious : max the blink.

Seriously, Riki has exactly the same skills as before, he just has an ultimate now.

So guides on the old Riki are still up to date, just look them up.

yeah backstab got merged with his invis passive

Cloak and Dagger! Even the numbers are exactly the same, it was 0.5/0.75/1/1.25 on the old skill as well.

Only thing that got changed about riki is that he got a new skill, Tricks of the Trade. His blink was reverted to his old blink, his stats were reduced a bit, and he lost his regen.

The only debate is whether he got buffed or nerfed (I consider it a major buff, but some disagree), however he's really the same hero and plays the same.

Yeah, the only change is a sleight of fist rip off ultimate which is surprisingly pretty good.

the regen was taken out of his invi
He has normal invi amd backstab is mixed with it
Blink is now a normal skill with cooldown.
smoke does not slow turnrates now
Ulti is a multi attack aoe attack attacking everyone from behind every time they are in the aoe
The build is pretty much the same diffusal orb of venom
Also he can escape attacks with ulti as he phases out during it
