So um... this is my first post of a hero concept on dotafire, but this is my second hero concept, who is so far my personal favorit concept. Bare in mind, im a bit of a noob a this stuff, so mistakes are likely to be made...

Anyway. So while i was working on my first hero concept, i hade a bit of trouble with her skill set and her specifik playstyle. So i decided to take a little break and made another hero for funsies. So i jokingly thought to myself "What? A hero that sits around and fishes the entire game?" and then it felt like i went through the matrix and just made a hero... based around fishing... And i hade so mutch fun making this! Partly cause i thought it would be hilarious cause most people make their Hero concepts either Gods, deities, legendary champions of war and people who survived the impossible and then have a guy who is just called "Fisherman" show up in the feed. So here is my second hero concept, but my first post on this website.

(Also im gonna put up some notes at the end to tell you a little bit about the hero. And feel a 100% free to post some feedback, would really appreciate it.)

Without further ado, Here's Orinn, The Fisherman.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________

So, "Who's Orinn?" you may ask. Well he is the same race as Tusk and come from the same area. "What is his playstyle?" He's a supportive melee strengh hero who can fish in the river as well as throw fish at people giving them random (but powerful) buffs. "Why is he in the Defense of the Ancients?" Becuse his sales was doing badly. So he, after seeing Tusk and Bristle duked it out in a Pub close by to his fish stand (Bristle was pissed for losing against Tusk in a Dota match that they took part of), decided to join the Defense of the Ancients in hope of gaining popularity and increase his sales.

So here are his skills:

Q - Fishing Rod
When toggled on, Orinn's basic attack range is increased. Along with this, he also deals bonus pure damage. Attacking when this is toggled on consumes mana.

Bonus attack range: 372
(Missle speed: 1200)
Bonus Pure Damage: 10/20/30/40
Mana cost: 15 per attack
It is wise not to mess with a fishermen for Cobalt...

W - Lash
Orinn throws his fishing rod at an enemy and they get slowed both in movement speed and attack speed and forceingly dragged towards him as well as taking some bleeding damage. This ability does stop channeling. But eneimes can still auto attack and throw spells while they are lashed. Also, while he has someone lashed he can not move himself, he trying to pull them in. (duh)

Channel time: 5.5 seconds
Bleeding damage: 25/35/45/55 (125/175/225/275)
Bonus Movement speed and attack speed slow: 70%
Cooldown: 20 seconds
Manacost: 110
"Oooh Caught One!"

E - Fresh Fish!
Orinn throws out the fishes he recently caught to his allies in an area around him, giving each ally a random buff. For each hero thats given a buff, consumes one stack. (so if all allies are in radius, it will consume four stack) The ability does nothing if the hero dosent have any stacks. These fishes gives out the following buffs:
A Red Piranah gives allies bonus attack damage and stats.
A Yellow Eel gives bonus movement speed and attack speed.
A Green Perch regenerates health and mana, Rapidly.
And a Blue Arapaima gives allies bonus armor and magic resist.

Red fish bonus basic attack damage: 10/15/20/25
Red fish bonus stats: 3/5/7/9
Yellow fish movespeed and attack speed buff: 25/35/45/55%
Green fish Health regen: 5/10/20/35
Green fish Mana regen: 3/5/10/20
Blue Fish Bonus armor: 4/6/8/12
Blue fish bonus magic resistance: 15/25/35/45%
Buff duration: 7 seconds
Aoe: 550
Cooldown: 27 seconds
Manacost: 125/150/175/200
"Fresh of the Boat!!"

D - Afternoon Delight
Orinn goes down to the river, settles down* and starts fishing. When hes fishing, he has a chance of getting between 1-3 stacks of fish for his E. He can have a max of 16 catches at a time. Also while hes fishing, he regenerates mana and get 80 XP whenever he gets a catch. He can interrupt his fishing at any time and doing so he breifly get bonus movement speed.
*He take up a chair from his backpack and puts it down.

Chance of getting a catch: 45%
Amount of stacks gained per catch: 1-3
Bonus mana regen: 12
Bonus Movement speed: 20%
Bonus Movement speed duration: 6 seconds

R - Whirlpool
Orinn summons a whirlpool in an area, if there are any enemy units in the whirlpool they will take damage, get slowed by 30 procent and slowely pulled towards the center. Orinn can have this whirlpool out however long he wants, but it drains his mana. Using this ability again will make the whirlpool disappear and go on cooldown. Orinn can also use this whirlpool to fish from, though he will get reduced XP for getting a catch. Using a pond and Lash at the same time will cause a 100% movement speed slow, but it is not a root.

Damage per tick: 35/65/95
Slow: 30%
Mana drain: 15/25/35
Aoe: 325/425/525
Xp per catch: 40 per catch
Cooldown: 20 seconds
Even though he dosent know a whole lot of magic, he still has his fair bit of tricks.
*This ability gives the hero some damage and a little bit of extra crowd control
*It also makes it possible for him to get stacks for his W without leaving the lane, or having to risk going out into the river

-- POTENTIAL AGHS UPGRADE!! --
Upgrades Fresh Fish!: Allies now will get two buffs at the same time, instead of just one. *does not consume an extra stack

__________________________________________________________________________________________________
So here comes the notes:

- At the beginning of the game, he starts with 6 stacks of his E.
- He is gonna have a pretty good intelligence gain. Pretty mediocre agility gain. And a low strengh gain. (most of his damage will come out from his spells)
- Fishing Rod works as a way to harass and deal some extra damage.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________
So thats Orinn, The Fisherman. Is he legit? Is he bad? Is he Overpowered? Is he underpowered? Anything that is unclear?

What are your thoughts?

(and to those who Post their hero concepts more often here, tell me what i should think about more in the future)

If you like what you saw and are courious on what my other concepts are, please tell me down below.

I think it's a good concept and the balance seems decent (maybe nerf his fishies buffs, they're really, really good). The main issue I see with the Hero: what if you don't have access to the river? The ultimate is good in that it can suffice, but then you're falling behind on XP because he's a very passive Hero.

Other than that though, I like it.
There are two kinds of people in the world; those who can count, and those who can't.

Well i took Terathiel's critic and some of my own and decided to change the hero a bit.

First and formost, Fresh fish is nerfed, the buffs have been decresed and im also adding a higher mana cost whenever you put skill points into it. The Fishies now have NAMES aswell! But their buffs are also weaker. Here are the Following stats for the fishies:
________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Red Piranah bonus basic attack damage: 10/15/20/25
Red Piranah bonus stats: 3/5/7/9
Yellow Eel movespeed and attack speed buff: 25/35/45/55%
Green Perch Health regen: 5/10/20/35
Green Perch Mana regen: 3/5/10/20
Blue Arapaima Bonus armor: 4/6/8/12
Blue Arapaima bonus magic resistance: 15/25/35/45%
Buff duration: 7 seconds
Aoe: 550
Cooldown: 27 seconds
Manacost: 125/150/175/200
________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Second, his skills are now in a new order. Now his E is Fishing rod, his W Lash,Fresh fish is now his E, and Afternoon Delight is now a seperat skill that he automaticly has at level 1 and dosent need to put any skillpoints into (just like Stone Remnant).

Third and Final: He now gets a little bit of extra Xp whenever he gets a catch(from 50 to 80). BUT!! He
now also gets a Xp from getting a catch from his whirlpool, though its only 40 per catch.

Hmm stating that "it is basically a root" is technically not right, a root does go through bkb afterall.

Minor things aside, his Q, u say only increases attack range, but doesn't change attack type unlike troll. The problem with this is, melee heroes beyond a certain range have a high miss chance, it was a recent change, forgot the numbers, 55% miss chance I think.

You might wanna opt for a different aghs though, 4200 for 4 extra buffs....

Kudos for using Aquaman's name,
P.S. - I love the concept.
I am the Abaddon *****!!!

I see... Well im probably gonna change his Q so that he becomes ranged when toggled on.
I thought it would be cool to have a hero who has the attack range of someone like Storm spirit(he has a pretty short attack range, right?), while still be counted as melee attacks(no projectiles, attacks instantly hits). But rules are rules and ill change it.

And again, its just a potential aghs upgrade that i came up with so that he would have better late game potential. Its not an offical part of the hero, just something that the hero can have if he lacks at the late game.

And yea it not really a root, i should change that...
P.S. thanks :P
