Haier the Proliferator



Hero Introduction

Haier was designed with the concept of a nuke, and his entire being resolves around that. Like a nuke, he was intended to be able to dish out ridiculous amount of damage (the initial blast) and last really long (the radiation), at a huge risk of harm to himself (nuclear wars).

To accomplish that, this hero has a unique mechanic called Resistance Pool (RP), which serves as kind of stopper in addition to MP, where disregarding this pool would mean all his ridiculous damage will also be received by Haier.

To increase RP, Haier needs to increase his 3 stats, and he would need that. This is because Haier is also made to become a hard carry focusing on stats (like Medusa), since he can dish out a huge AoE damage with his two active skills, but they cost a tonne of MP, he can also be durable with his passive that also increases his DPS by a lot when combined with the debuff of his first skill, and his ultimate that can render him unkitable if used properly.

I really like this concept, and I would like to hear your opinion on it. Because of the concept, this hero is not the most balanced of heroes (since the idea is a Nuke, which is supposed to be overpowered), but I did my best to create a huge downside on this hero that makes him kinda balanced.

Lore

Haier could only remember the fear.

Not the heat of the scorching air, the blast of the explosion, or the impact on his head. He remembered nothing but that terrible terror of what was to come. He did not understand why, it was just his animalistic instinct for survival, begging him to run away as fast as he could.

But he did not. He could not, and even if he did it would not matter. He could only watch as the fiery cloud expanded wider and wider, knocking him with flaming anguish of billions souls. He was blown off —apart— but he could not even remember how he was hurt that day.

All he remembered was how his vision slowly turns to black, as his body shivers with unearthly chill. He was terrified. He did not want to die. But his body seemed to betray him, his eyes could not fight the weight of ash permeating the air, and he was forced to close his eyes, accompanied with his one last cry of black tears. Then, there was only darkness.

Darkness, until he suddenly felt pain. The pain was so inhumane, so barbaric that it would be impossible to recall how it felt. Haier was alive. Somehow, he survived that blast; he over lived his entire world. He did, at the cost of his humanity. His cells had proliferated out of control in resistance of the blast, destroying what used to be his body and reconstructing it into something entirely different. He was no longer human, and he was stranded in this world somehow.

That is the end of Haier the Human, and beginning of Haier the Proliferator.

Skills

[] Resistance: Haier’s mutant body has developed a resistance toward radioactive harm, shielding him from his own attacks. This skill is an inbound skill that does not need to be leveled, and will create a third pool for Haier called Resistance Pool (RP). RP’s amount is the total amount of Haier’s strength, agility, and intelligence. If Haier runs out of RP, he will receive damage from his skills, and dying to his own kill will give the credit to enemy team’s creeps. RP will regenerate by 1% maximum amount every second (5% in fountain). This pool will not be refreshed by Aegis of Immortal or Regeneration rune.

[Q] Nuclear Blast: Haier condenses the radiation within his body and unleashes it as a blast. This skill deals pure damage and melts armors of enemy units within a straight line of 200 points width for 1200 range to none for 2 seconds. All units struck will receive a number of Radioactive. If Haier runs out of MP, he can still use this skill, but will cost three times the RP cost. If Haier runs out of RP, this skill can still be used, but will damage him for twice the damage.

A concentrated nuclear blast can melt even steel beams.

[W] Thermal Radiation: The Proliferator lets loose thermal energies stored inside his body outside, causing a hazardous radiation around him. This skill slows and deals a huge amount of damage to enemy units around Haier, but costs a lot of MP and RP. If Haier runs out of MP, he can still use this skill, but will cost three times the RP cost. If Haier runs out of RP, this skill will damage himself for twice the damage every tick. Any enemy unit damaged by this skill will receive a stack of Radioactive.

The sheer heat of nuclear radiation is so immense that none can withstand it.

[] Ionization: Whenever Haier interacts with radioactive source; he can ionize a part of his surroundings to either increase or reduce damage. This skill passively reduces damage dealt by units with Radioactive stack to Haier and increases damage dealt to units with Radioactive stack by Haier. Damage reduction is capped to 60%, but the damage amplification is not capped.

Haier can easily control positive and negative charges, and thus, the war.

[R] Apocalypse: The Proliferator materializes the apocalypse of his own world into this world, causing tremendous damage to any living units. After a cast time, causes all units within 400 points radius to instantly receive a huge amount of damage, gradually slowing and activating any stack of Radioactive nearby. Units with Radioactive will lose one stack every half seconds, dealing damage when they do. The initial radius will continue to grow slowly until it reaches 1200 radius, and all units with Radioactive inside the radius will receive 50% additional damage. Cannot be casted without enough MP, but can be casted without enough RP. If it’s casted without enough RP, Haier will receive four times the initial damage. The radius is determined from initial cast point, not influenced by Haier after casted.

A few thoughts:

Can he have 1 more starting Str and .1 more growth to signify that he is Strength and not Agility or Intel?

Radioactive stacks don't do anything unless you have the {E} or the {R}, right?

I don't think it's actually needed, since currently it's like Bane's stats, all exactly distributed. But if you want, I can change the str to 20+2.0.

Yeah, Radioactive does nothing until activated by [R] or if [E] is learned. Each stack of Radioactive lasts until either Haier or the Radioactive carrier is dead.

I'll be waiting for the continuation :D
