I also didn't understand purpose of Manta Style on ember until I started building this item. Not only gives you stats and movement speed (which is actually useful when you are 6 slotted with rapier and need to drop something for aegis, just drop boots and still have good movement speed), it also gives you 0.1 sec invulerability to dodge projectiles, gives you more push, allows you to scout, allows you to demine techies, allows you to disable blink daggers during team fights (initiate with sleight > chains combo on enemy initiator and pop manta during sleight), allows for some mind games, allows you to farm 2 places at once... And you can be literally yolo with this item. Enemy team may have blink puck trying to pick you off whole game but he won't do jack **** because every time he jumps on you you just use manta and jump to remnant in split second.
"When game is going full ******, you can only go with it. If you start going against it, if you start going half ******, you´re ****ing done for. When Aloha decides to go middle rubick you let him, and you start buying orb of venom on invoker. That's how dota works" -n0tail
