I'm just looking for some advice from any of the more experienced BH players on what skills should I prioritize and in what situation. I almost always go Shadow Walk first, but after that it gets a little tricky. Most of the time I max Shuriken first to have a decent damage nuke early to mid game, and feel like maxing shadow walk isn't THAT helpful since 20 secs is often enough to escape, not to mention the high fade time allows me to potentially land 2 hits with the Shadow Walk damage bonus.
So, are there any situations in which investing in Jinada would be better? Am I correct in not maxing Shadow Walk early? How viable is it to level Jinada as a harassment tool?

Never max shuriken past level 2 early game. It sucks in my opinion. From level 2 to 3 you barely gain 50 damage and then 75. It's just not good enough. Prioritise shadow walk and then try to use it offsensively. It deals 120 damage when you break the invis, it's very strong if maxed out because you can double hit (already be invis - hit - invis - hit). Get one point in Jinada only, use it as a method of slowing people. Jinada combined with orb of venom is very stong for harassment.

Personally i still max shuriken even though the scaling sucks, because it gives the highest damage output for early ganks. I play BH really active as you should IMO. I wont even have phase (if i get them at all, they are only really usefull if you are ahead early) so that makes more early points in jinada even less usefull.
Besides, with 1 or 2 points into shadow walk you can hit the enemy twice with the bonus damage, it isnt possible from lvl3 since the fadetime becomes too short.

Maybe if you could crit with shadow strike damage i wouldnt max shuriken, but well you cant.

It also depends on your item build :)

If you go for the classical phase/bottle/drum/urn/etc, BH has HUGE mana issues. so I wouldn't skill Shuriken Toss beyond level 2 simply because the mana cost is too high. Besides maxing Jinada early is good for lots of reasons, first it helps you get uncontested last hits in lane as well as good harassment, and second it allows you to get two crits off in a gank which also means two slows.
So for the phase/drum bounty I'd go E -> W -> Q -> Q -> W -> W -> W and then max E. Of course take ult at 6.
Shadow Walk is kind of a value point. At most two levels in it, more is unnecessary.

There's also another item build that is starting to become my favorite which is Tranquil Boots + Soul Ring. BH needs tons of regen to heal up between ganks, and the SR solves his mana problems by giving him "free" shurikens. In that build maxing Shuriken Toss at 7 is the way to go.

Well you only have mana issues if you go full phase before bottle. A lot of games there is no reason to go phase at all.
Pretty much every game i get an oov as my first item after brown boots, and i usually start with those unless i know i can screw with the lane a lot. But usually ill just screw with a jungler or the mid. Phase are only really good when you got a few kills and can get them REALLY early. Otherwise id rather finish stuff like bottle, medallion, oov.

Partially agree with my wulfy sama
I DONT SKILL SHURIKEN PAST 2!!!!. Same reasons as he cited.

I think getting two points in shadow walk and getting skill points in jinada +track is better because Jinada does awesome crit 12 minutes into the game. Also shadow walk damage is non crittable so meh.

I get shuriken past level 2 because the damage is great early game, even though the mana cost is not good for Bounty Hunter. I am also a big fan of getting 2 points in shadow walk] early on, instead of 1 point and then maxing it last. i don't think [[shadow walk is worth maxing first or second, but i definitely don't like anyone who just leaves it at level 1 until they have maxed shuriken and Jinada. 2 points in Shadow Walk allows you to remain invisible indefinitely, which will save your life a lot.

However mate, it's really up to the game. Think about what skill you'll get the most out of, and level it up. Don't just blindly follow a skill and item build and hope for the best...

However, that being said, NEVER buy Battle Fury on Bounty Hunter. NEVER.
when a thing is done, it's done. Don't look back.
