We have all probably seen or experienced a game where some of your teammates are just absolute s***. Like this one where instead of our Wraith King stepping up to the challenge and helping us off of the back-foot, he sells all of his items and intentionally feeds the enemy team.

This seems all too common in solo queues, so I have decided to make a guide on dealing with those teammates who just refuse to cooperate in a summative guide to surviving solo queue aside from threatening your them with reports or wishing terminal illnesses of all shapes and forms upon them.

The common answer to dealing with solo queue is to not play solo queue. But many people playing dota don't really have other people to play with. When I started playing Dota 2, there was not a living soul for miles around me that I knew played dota. So I believe that a comprehensive guide to not only survive solo queue, but enjoy it as well, is essential.

What do you guys think? Is this a good idea? Do you have any suggestions for the guide (other than not playing solo queue)? Feel free to tell me.

See ya 'round pardners ;)

I think its a great idea! personally I enjoy solo que honestly, playing with friends is great but I do enjoy it.

Anyway, some sort of suggestion/recommendation for solo que. Be vocal. Every time someone gets a kill even if you dont see it. say good job (or gj). it just gets people feeling good about themselves. Same goes for once you get a tower etc. Always keep peoples spirits up. if your losing them game. tell people to stick together, help others, and be positive. if people start throwing yeah report him, but play your game. hopefully the other team will acknowledge you for not being a **** for throwing/ruining the game. and there will always be games where everyone is a ****. in that instance just play your game.

not sure if that chunk of text makes sense or not. hope it helps nonetheless. and cant wait for the guide.
Your new diet for heroes; You will need 4 wards (cuz wards taste better), 1 set of tangoes, 1 mango, 1 cheese.
With this you can make a nice Tango Mango Cheese platter. You can wash this all down with a nice bottle of water, Can be flavoured with red, green, yellow, blue, purple AND GOLD!
Caution: Taking roshan 3 times is required.

How to survive scrub solo queue? For me it begins by acknowledging this essential fact : you are playing 1 vs 5.

Which means that you can't count on your team for *anything*. You need to win the game 1 v 5 or lose it. Even if you're playing support, you need to win the game 1 v 5 with low farm, which is completely possible actually xD

Also you need to keep talking constructive stuff about the game and ignore people flaming. In a game I played yesterday I was win a bunch of flamers, we had a Rubick + Zeus dual lane mid because they both wanted mid (who plays Rubick mid these days we're not in 6.70 anymore). but I managed to survive that by simply saying game-related stuff. When I told off Rubick because he wasn't buying wards, he actually bought wards. When I said to go Rosh, everybody went Rosh. And so on. Basically ignore the flame and focus on the game. It's the best way to get people to listen to you. Sometimes you can just tell your team to stop whining like a bunch of babies and play the ******** game. It may only work half of the time but it's still what you need to do. Focus on the game and make light fun of whining babies who flame, this puts them back in their place.

Solo queue is actually playable. Just look at any professional player's steam, there's a lot of solo queue there. What these guys do is win games 1 v 5, while being the only one saying constructive stuff among a bunch of flaming morons. Look at w33's stream it's all about this. If you're good that's what you need to do.

Great idea. I do solo some times, and it is a very mixed experience!
I've got to echo Hamstertamer though:

If you keep it to the game, try to co-ordinate stuff. I'm normally a support and it seems like at my scrubby tier all the carries don't understand what the mini-map is for. So early game i am constantly pinging and trying to warn people of rotations/missings. Getting a lot of really simple stuff done early will set in a level of confidence in the other players and make them more susceptible to play as a team.

After one game recently a Riki thanked me for the support at the end... It was a momentous and emotional occasion.

Also, make sure you are happy with and know the chat wheel. If you are in a team with 4 Russians it's going to be vital.
