We are slowly approaching May 1st, when Valve will begin inviting teams to TI5. Stuff can happen in that time period, so what are the important tournaments to follow before TI5? Would stand out performances in tourneys like The Summit or Red Bull Battlegrounds sway the powers that be to extend an invite to a certain team? Or have the invites been locked up at this point?

Also, who decides the invites? Is it a committee? Or do they just draw numbers from a hat?

IM GOING TO ESL FRANKFURT, H Y P E B O Y S . IS ANYONE ELSE GOING?

starladder is also coming up next week so that will also be important.
also the summit 3 in may. ileague is also around the same time. weirdly close to eachother it seems to me....
dreamleague in june.

so there are still quite some tournaments before TI5.

valve decides who gets invited, i wonder if the directly invited will be the same amount, since the scene was unstable for a long time and a lot of teams are still very close.

also TI4 was the first TI to have a big qualifier. for example kaipi, the team that would later become C9 werent even invited to the TI3 qualifiers. now that seems quite unthinkable.
maybe the qualfiers will be even bigger and more than just one from every region can make it.

DAC was probably the biggest one they'll be judging it by (Or at least where say the initial ideas of teams would've come from), given it's one of the few major international events.

The Summit 3 and ESL and probably the next biggest tournaments; Starladder has lost some degree of popularity over the years.

But I'm not sure when those lan dates are, given that the invites will be here by the end of april/beginning of May. At this stage I'd even say that the invites will be set, and the teams actually given them already (Since I can't imagine they first find out when it's publically announced).

Since you just can't have enough Chaos Breaker.
