Me and my buddies need help!

We have done some extensive research into weather or not Dota 2 is a popular thing in our town.

The three of us live just about 15 minutes outside of Baton Rouge and one of us goes to LSU but we cannot seem to find anyone who plays competitively in the local area.. I was wondering what you guys would suggest for us to do; is there a specific website or vendor that hosts these types of things, etc etc... I highly doubt there is no one around BR who wouldn't want to get together in a cafe and start competing locally.. This is something we want to do very much- it is just extremely frustrating that no one seems to be live about it.

You should probably check the sub-reddit for your region, search facebook for a DotA 2 community in or relatively close to your town. I have no clue where Baton Rouge is.... Is that a restaurant? possibly some advertisement in your town, go to your local gamestop and try to promote dota or something.

Yea, tried all of that and nothing has worked. Of course I haven't gone to gamestop but I don't think they even host console gaming torneys where we live.

Holy **** give him a break. Anybody googling Baton Rouge would see the restaurant links come up first because it's 100X better known than the town in Louisiana. He went through all that effort for you. I live in Canada and anybody would tell you Baton Rouge is a restaurant. And we're probably the only ones that gives a **** about what happens in the US.

And I'm sorry but just because CNN tracks hurricanes 24/7 doesn't mean that other people from other countries want to watch it. No one really cares. AND Hurricane Katrina was almost a decade ago, so it's really not news. I would be surprised if non-Americans even knew it struck Louisiana the hardest, most people only remember New Orleans.

So take your American self-important snobbishness somewhere else.

Take it easy guys lol, i didn't do any research i just go downtown to school alot and see the restaurant lol. No need to become hostile just yet lmao.

I suggest you host a tournament now that will take place next year and see how many people register. obviously cap it to like 8 teams 50 bucks prize pool winner take all.. something small and that would definitely attract players in your region.

I used to think i had the same problem but then i found out ALOT of ppl in my city play dota 2 but my city is HUGE and has like 20,000,000-30,000,000 ppl in it -.-
