The stoic Methuselah would not move when his forest was burned. The first tree of this forest stood strong burning for decades and still providing life to his neighbors. The Nature God and Verodicia were moved by its unwavering will to protect that which could not protect itself and so granted this tree with sentience and the ability to uproot itself so that it may better defend his home. However, the fire had burned Methuselah for so long and he had used it to fuel his strength the gods could not extinguish his flame.
