Aghanim

The Supreme Magus

Renown Sorcerer, wielder of the all mighty scepter. He yearned for more knowledge to add to his arsenal and the only depths he could continue to find them was the very source of magic. The realm of pure, concentrated, destructive and provocative magic. And so he left everything behind to enter into this new realm, discovering new forms of magic and absorbing raw destructive power and knowledge. The Supreme Sorcerer has returned to claim his throne once again, as the Grand Magus.

Stats

Aghanims stats are up to discussion but the most underlying parts about the hero is that:

- His base attack damage is less than 55
- His base attack time is slow - slightly slow
- Projectile speed is slow
- Intelligence is his primary attribute.
- Movement Speed, Hp, and Armor are all low.

+ Decently sized mana Pool
+ Spikes Early and has a decent transition late game.
+ Magic critical strikes mean he can use other magic damage items to his advantage
such as Dagon and Shiva's Guard.

Playstyle

Because of his low mobility and high vulnerability, his mid laning capabilities is probably similar to that of Outworld Devourer. Good against enemy cores who can't fight back without putting themselves at risk, but really bad when they have high mobility and can CC him.

Aghanim's playstyle is unique in that his Auto-Attacks are not physical, but magical. This may seem broken at first, but with his lack of mobility and low Hp and armor, he is a very vulnerable early game hero until he at least hits level 5 or 6.

He is a decent laner and has an early spike at around 6 - 10 and is mostly an early game hero but with a good transition to late game. The biggest counter to his playstyle are heroes like pudge or underlord who buy pipes and any hero in general that buys BKB. Because most of his damage does not pierce spell immunity in late game fights if he cannot outlast the BKBs he is completely out of the fight.

He can played in both a Support and Core role further details in the other section.

Roles

Core
Very vulnerable early game results in a lot of matchups he is not good against, a requirement of levels means more than likely a mid laner if placed in a core role. He can harass a lot of different mid lanes by himself and at level 6 has extremely high solo-kill potential.

A bad laning phase is pretty devastating as he doesn't really have any means to farm normally aside from spamming E, which is most likely not skilled highly in early levels. He is also unable to escape rotations from Heroes with stuns and/or tanky, such as Crystal Maiden, Ogre, Shadow Shaman, Lion.

A bad laning phase also leads to a bad Mid-Game for this hero, as he desperately needs levels to operate at a competitive core level. Spell amp is good, but not good when behind.

However, a decent laning phase means he can come out as a huge threat for the rest of the game, especially if enemy cores do not intend to build a BKB

Kaya, Mjolnir, Shiva's Guard and Octarine Core are pretty much core items on this hero as a core.

Support
A 4th position Aghanim support is very good, his E is a decent mini stun and you can channel several charges meaning you can keep a target control of a decent amount of time. Late game he can transition to another core and his Level 6 is easily a very good spike to pick off more vulnerable enemy cores in the early game.

Euls and Dagon would be ideal core support items on this hero.

I see someone else also had the idea of designing Aghanim, and on the same day as me too. Your picture is SO much better though! Amazing that we also wrote similar lore xD

I find it odd that you'd take the most powerful Magus and turn him into a right clicker, but to each his own I guess. The spell crit is an interesting mechanic, but I'm not sure about a passive that gives flat spell amp. You could instead just have bigger numbers on your spells. The bomb is interesting, but the numbers are way too low. They are low overall on all spells, but I guess it's better than to overkill it.

All in all, a right clicking magus seems nice.
