I'm going to try this guide out today. I've been playing around with Medusa a little bit and kinda like her. I am, however, going to put more points in stats earlier than you suggest to improve her right-click damage and give her a bit more basic punch. We'll see how that works out.

Some disagree with Manta Style on Medusa, saying it's not that effective. Care to comment on that?

Manta Style is always a good damage amp, and can also purge, making it a very good item to buy in every match. However, what we should keep in mind is it is illusion based, you should build for illusions. If all you're building is mkb, moon shards, mjolnirs and the such, it is pointless to grab manta style for damage. on a similar topic, you shouldn't build manta second item for the damage, and get something like a skadi first.
