Amazing guide! I was terrible at Doom before I read this guide. Thanks so much.

Thanks all, hope the finals go/went well KoDyAbAbA :D The main part of the offlane Doombringer for me is that you get Tranquil Boots so you can survive in lane with some armour and regen, but the offlane role is mainly to get XP, and this makes Doom more of a team fighter with the rest of his team than a carry in itself. He gets decent gold just using devour, can always transition to jungle, and with a bit of assistance from some carries, can get a kill every 2 mins using Doom. I understand what you mean though, if you get heavily harassed out of lane it is really quite difficult to get anywhere. Usually in these situations i'd just sit back, get some XP and Devour, or just transition to jungle. If the safe lane is going nicely you can always borrow a support from there, particularly if you're tri-laning without a jungler. Thanks everyone :)

So you've never tried the China Doom build?

Ok. Good to know.

If you have any partner with a reliable stun, you can gank easily.

Just eat Alpha Wolf or Ghost.
1-Q
2-W
3-W

And now you hopefully have your tranquils and orb. You might be level 4, who knows.

Natural high HP and armor from tranquils makes tower diving easy, scorching earth + 90 or 50 bonus movespeed and only the fastest heroes or those with an escape can escape.

^and then what?

he can gank(barely), but if the enemy is faster than him (which they are most of the time) or there is an allied hero nearby (which there always is), doom don't do **** bruh .-.

fun fact : at level 1, Doom does 300 damage. (its true)

Seriously, does nobody else build Orb of Venom + Tranquil Boots on Doom?

^not being a ****, just a short comment with a tinge of humour.I'm sorry if im being a ****, its just that i have my finals (in 2 hours actually ;_;) and i have been studying about 16 hours a day for a month.

Doom has 0 starting armor, no way to farm in lane other than Devour and no way to harass the enemy without emptying his own mana pool. he also requires for a lot of farm.

the culmination of all of these results in a very sub-standard offlaner.I would rather lane him with with a solid babysitter who can get him the farm that he needs to get an early midas.

A doombringer just cannot sustain himself against a competitive tri/dual lane simply because he has no way to negate damage, his item choices are very important to him (unlike that of a Tidehunter) and he needs a tonne of farm before being anywhere near relevant in the game.

hope this comment is insightful enough XD

Edit: also, the static nature of the builds kind of underestimates the very large plethora of items that a doom can purchase. If i have to play an offlane doom, i would rather make utility items such as Pipe of Insight, Force Staff, vladimir's offering and Mekansm rather than going for a 30 minute Shadow Blade into aghanim's scepter.

Edit 2: the absence of a Butterfly needs to be rectified.

Also, a sidenote. With the current changes in meta not being huge for junglers and the late-game heroes making a comeback, i would rather play a hard-dual lane with doom, and transform him into a spell-caster hero with a core blink>aghs>refresher because lets face it, other than farming faster than other heroes and having an annoying ultimate, our friend from hell doesn't do much. And even at that it is not that difficult to run away from doom and just wait till he pops his doom on somebody.

Doom does not do well in pressure-type playstyle games, meaning that in the late game, the doom pick is counterintuitive in the sense that he has a very hard time against mega creeps.

Oh man, I always looked at you as those top notch guide creatos and those that leave those insightful comments and are supportive and knowledgeable. Sad to realize that is not the case and that you are kind of a ****; is there any need to be so arrogant?

Yeah, it's generally a darn sigh better, but I think Doom kind of needs the attack speed, it's preferable. I will probably update it tomorrow XD

Ok, sorry. Sort of skimmed. By the way, if Blink Dagger is better in almost every way, and it's cheaper...

Okay, I have mentioned that Blink Dagger is far superior to Shadow Blade, but i'll make sure to make that more obvious :D Also, a Midas is pretty easy to get on the offlane, I usually get mine around 7-8 mins. Thanks for the help btw :)

You will not be able to farm midas on offlane doom fast enough(~10 mins). It just cannot be core for this build.
