Paldea the Deranged Prophet

Hero Introduction

Paldea is a hero(ine) that is created with an idea of a hero that breaks the 4th wall (like a certain someone from the marvel universe). This hero is designed to be a versatile hero that can be built into 3 major directions based on his three basic skills, Load & Save Point to be played as split-pusher, Link Hack to be played as ganker/disabler and Disconnection to be played as elusive semi-carry. To further increase the point, I made this hero levels unorthodoxly (6 levels in 3 basic skills, 5 levels in Random Access Memory and 2 in Specific Upgrade).

The Random Access Memory works as a replacement to the stats points, increasing overall effectivity of the skills (like synergy), but requires a lot of levels to be useful. Specific Upgrade also confirms the direction where the hero is built in each game. Because of these, this hero needs a lot of level, and is meant to be played as an off-laner, with sustainability from Load & Save Point as well as elusiveness from Disconnection. This hero also has the fastest reincarnation in the game from level 5, as soon as he learn Random Access Memory, allowing him to use Load even after his death, making him a very hard to kill hero.

This hero can be very durable, as well as being able to become a very strong (semi)carry because of the 2 possible additional inventory slots if she choose to upgrade Random Access Memory twice in Specific Upgrade. All in all, this hero is meant to be versatile and interesting, playing around with player controls and level distributions, thus requiring a huge level of game foresight to be able to be played to the fullest. However, this hero will be very fun to use because of her responses and gameplay, as well as rewarding if played properly.

Lore

It was a dark night, stars shone dimly behind a veil of cloud and a sigh was heard high in the hollow peaks of the Zealot's Range. Standing there was a lady clothed in maroon robe, visibly distressed while mulling over a matter of imminent —and utmost— danger. She quivered, unable to contain the knowledge of a near and upcoming end of everything she knew. Once more she sighed, and again her soul roamed the cosmos, only to be perturbed by the same revelation that she had seen for days, that an Oracle would come and with her the end of a universe in an infinite pieces of shattered mirrors.

Weeks on end she spent meditating in the dark of nights, each day expecting to be proven wrong in her cosmic roams, but not a time had she been proven wrong, not until that one night. It was just a night like any others, Paldea sitting in silence of the highest clarity none could have, but this night was different, this night Paldea received more than the end of her universe. She received an understanding that her universe did not even exist, that her reality —all decisions she had made— was just a fabricated simulation controlled by inhabitants of another universe, the Suzerains as she called them.

This newfound wisdom relieved Paldea of her pain, but none could say for sure if it was at the cost of her sanity. Thus, with every passing day she spread her prophecy and revelation, and was therefore known as the Deranged Prophet. However, when the time came and her prophecy was fulfilled the other prophets regret their obtuse ignorance. Having received the highest revelation, Paldea managed to travel past the boundary of her universe and survived the shattering mirrors. Now a figure venturing the battlefield, wearing her tattered maroon robe as cape and a mask hiding her sanity as well as her emotions, she continued to dispense her twisted wisdom for anyone willing to listen —and for those who are not, her mystical blade will grant them their bitter and absolute proof.

Skills

[Q] Save Point: With Paldea's ability to see the truth, she creates a point in her reality where she embeds a fragment of her soul save from any possible harm. This skill creates a Save Point that later can be loaded with sub-ability Load that is learned automatically with this skill. The points are visible to enemies.

- 1 maximum point, lasts 20 seconds each
- 2 maximum points, lasts 40 seconds each
- 3 maximum points, lasts 60 seconds each
- 4 maximum points, lasts 80 seconds each
- 5 maximum points, lasts 100 seconds each
- 6 maximum points, lasts 120 seconds each

Type: No Target
Affects: None

MP cost: 30
Cast time: 1 second
Cool down: 15 seconds

I shall remember this point of my life.

notes

[D] Load: The Deranged Prophet moves her soul into a fragment of her past, regaining HP, MP and location as the condition she was when she created the targeted Save Point. This skill can be used even in death after Random Access Memory has been learned. EXP, gold, item and cool down are not affected.

Type: Target save point
Affects: Self

MP cost: 250
Cool down: 110 seconds
Cast time: 1 second
Cast range: Global

notes

[W] Link Hack: Paldea slashes and hacks the link of a targeted enemy unit from respective Suzerain, losing control and becoming mindless puppet for a short while. This skill disables and makes a unit uncontrollable by their respective players. This skill can be casted on both heroes and creeps, but doesn't disable if casted on creeps and costs only half the original MP cost.

- 1.2 seconds duration, 120 damage
- 1.6 seconds duration, 180 damage
- 2.0 seconds duration, 240 damage
- 2.2 seconds duration, 300 damage
- 2.6 seconds duration, 360 damage
- 3 seconds duration, 420 damage

Type: Target Unit
Affects: Enemy Units
Damage: Magical

MP cost: 160
Cool down: 12 seconds
Cast range: 600

Is this good enough a proof for you?

notes

[E] Disconnection: The reason she managed to escape her universe, Paldea cut the connections of herself and her Suzerains, allowing her to move without any kind of restrain. This skill disconnects player control to the Deranged Prophet for a maximum of 7 seconds. Paldea will automatically move and attack enemies in targeted area until the duration is finished or all enemies confirmed are dead. It is impossible to cancel this skill mid-way except by Paldea's death. If no enemy is in the area, Paldea will stop in the targeted point until duration runs out.

- 10% movement, 25% attack speed and evasion bonus
- 15% movement, 35% attack speed and evasion bonus
- 20% movement, 45% attack speed and evasion bonus
- 25% movement, 55% attack speed and evasion bonus
- 30% movement, 65% attack speed and evasion bonus
- 35% movement, 75% attack speed and evasion bonus

Type: Target Area
Affects: Self

MP cost: 180
Cool down: 30 seconds
Duration: 8 seconds
Radius: 500 points
Cast Range: Global

Sorry Suzerains, but I am taking this into my own hands.

notes

[] Random Access Memory: After many dangers, Paldea realized that she could maximize her potentials by increasing her memory access. This skill grants bonus stats, upgrades Load cool down and MP cost, Link Hack disable duration and cast range, as well as Disconnection duration, attack speed and evasion bonus. This skill also enables Load to be used within 5 seconds after death, invalidating her death.

- 4 to all stats, can be taken at level 5
- 8 to all stats, can be taken at level 10
- 12 to all stats, can be taken at level 15
- 16 to all stats, can be taken at level 20
- 20 to all stats, can be taken at level 25

Type: Passive
Affects: Self

Load cool down: -13 seconds/level (45 seconds max level)
Load MP cost: -30/level (100 MP cost max level)
Link Hack disables duration: +0.2 seconds/level (4 seconds max level)
Link Hack cast range: +60/level (900 points max level)
Disconnection duration: +0.6/level (10 seconds max level)
Disconnection attack speed and evasion: +5%/level (100% max level)

I do need some RAM increase right now

Notes:

[] Specific Upgrade: Paldea is capable to roam the cosmic reality to speak with her Suzerain, allowing her to upgrade a specific area of her power. This skill can be taken at level 6 and 21, and choosing a skill after learning this skill can give a specific upgrade to one of her skills. At the first upgrade, a tier one upgrade can be chosen, while at the second upgrade, either a tier one upgrade of another skill can be chosen or a tier two upgrade for her upgraded skill.

Tier One:
Load: Load is now possible to be used without save point if she died, resurrecting herself in the location of her death with 75% HP and MP
Link Hack: Will now affect units within 275 points radius of targeted unit
Disconnection: Allows the player to reconnect by pressing the skill again
Random Access Memory: Grants an additional inventory slot

Tier Two:
Load: Load is now possible to be used without save point if she died, resurrecting herself within 1200 radius from the location of her death with full HP and MP. Also allows loading in 1200 radius from all save points.
Link Hack: Will now affect units within 350 points radius of targeted unit, also pierces magic immunity
Disconnection: Allows the player to reconnect by pressing the skill again, also prevents being disabled while in duration.
Random Access Memory: Grants two additional inventory slots

Type: Passive
Affects: Self

Hey Suzerain, some favor please?

Esmerelda, the Wraith Queen

HI Guys Smuggels here. For this FoC I actually thought really hard and long about what type of hero I should create. I thought up this really complex really intricate hero with multiple layers and many many skills. I scrapped it and then came up with a hero that was similar but had one active and many many passives then I thought to myself "Smuggs what are you doing? People will just get confused. So I scrapped it.
I went back to our beloved Hero Creation Forum and looked at all the hero's who have come and gone. I read all the spells and passives. I looked at all we have done and thought "jesus we are good at creating complex heroes."

I thought why complex? Is it because they are hard to make and we want to challenge ourselves?

Maybe.

So I went back to basics

I looked at the current heroes in Dota 2 and realised" they are all very simplistically Elegant.

They all have a theme and a character, one that is present from the outset.

They all have ties to one another and even to items so with that in mind.

So I tried to do the same.

This hero is all about elegance and simplicity.

I want this hero to actually look like it would be in the actual game.

So! ERE WE GO!

Lore

A long long time ago, there was a kingdom called De'Drias. Its hills and fields were green and full of life, its citizens were happy, content and peaceful. This was due to their king, Ostarion who served them day and night. All Ostarion wanted was for his subjects to be happy and for his selfless rule he was loved more so then any other king. He was Fair and Just, He toiled in the chambers of trade and when needed went to the fields and worked in them also.
But as he started to get older his subjects started to see that though they were happy beyond measure and he was happy for them, he was lonely. So they gathered one day in the City Hall built by Ostarion and decreed that even though he put them first, it was time to repay all his selfless acts by finding him a queen. So the call went out to all corners of the kingdom "Find the King a Queen."

Weeks passed and no word was forthcoming until a lone rider stumbled back into town with a message, he had found someone who he thought was worthy of their king her name was... Esmerelda. She lived on the very edge of Ostarion's kingdom and was the town healer. She was quiet shy and withdrawn but when it came to dealing with her patients she was strict and forceful, in her words"I wont let you hurt yourself if I can help it". As soon as they heard this the City elders knew she might be the one for their king so she was summoned to the Capital. Weeks passed and no sign of her, Months passed and still nothing, the elder feared she had been killed on the road by bandits and were saddened by what they knew was the last hope for their king to be truly happy.
One day the king was out riding checking the roads of his kingdom for possible repair when his horse found a pothole and stumbled throwing him off, he landed with a cry and instantly felt his wrist snap. As he lay on the road groaning in pain a cold yet soft hand paused him. "Calm sir be calm I will help as I can" looking up into the most beautiful eyes he had ever seen Ostarion was instantly smitten. Esmerelda had arrived.
The courtship was brief but happy and before long they were married and the party lasted weeks and weeks with the whole kingdom rejoicing because they knew, finally, their king was no longer alone.
Months of happiness and joy turned into years and the kingdom was in a perpetual state of bliss as their King and Queen fell deeper and deeper in love with each other and so did the Citizens fall in love with them.
One day riders burst from the palace with news.
The queen was sick, deathly sick.
Soon a motley crew of shaman's healers and priests were gathered and none could find out what was wrong, let alone heal her. At this the king sunk into a great depression and sent even more riders out even further then before... past the kingdoms borders.
One day a lone sorcerer appeared at the gates. I can fix what ails your queen he spoke to the guards and was ushered into the king's chamber. With hearing this Ostarion's heart leapt. Soon the sorcerer had finished the spells preparations central to these it seemed was a massive blood red glowing stone and with words of warning to the king "no matter what happens don't touch her" he laid Esmerelda on the stone and started to cast the spell. Wild energies and lights filled the room and Esmerelda snapped up into the air screaming. Ostarion couldn't bear watching his queen in such pain and ran towards her and grabbed her out of the air.
The longevity spell split in two with fantastic power. One half, the spiritual half going towards saving Esmerelda's soul and the physical part going towards Ostarion, killing his soul but preserving his body.
A final shout of pain sealed their fates, and with it, The Skeleton King and the Wraith Queen were born And the stone upon which it all happened shall forever be known as the BloodStone.

notes

Ever since that fateful day Esmerelda has been searching for her King and in her searches she finds those worthy of her help...And what is another death to one who has died so many times before.

Explanation:

So i looked a dota and we dont really have many heroes that are durable healers or supports. i looked at other mobas and they have these heroes where there whole playstyle is keeping people alive .. not person!.... PEOPLE meaning many!! :)

so i thought this might be a good idea to create this old girl. plus i always wanted to do something to do with Skeleton King aka Wraith King now so it kinda fits... cant have a king without a queen :)

so she is played as a pos 5 or 4 and with her high starting hp and her high strength gain she turns into a bit of a tank. and with her aoe regen and support skills plus her durability and her instant reliable stun she is amazing in an aggresive trilane. where she would be able to keep her allies hp high and intiate with her stun then when she gets her levels up she gets even better with being able to push down a tower when she activates ghostly devotion and her ULT is amazing with the plays. ive tried to keep her as balanced as possible with high mana costing on her spells and long cooldowns.

Her ult is able to save a near death carry and then bring him back or you can use it to flee if you dont have the move speed and they do. plus i feel she would look pretty cool on the battlefield with roses and white dress and yea.

ive got a heap on respones for her which i will put in soon.

Lore:
Demons are powerful creatures that are not to be trifled with. For as long as civilisation has existed, creatures of all worlds learned to avoid them, but still some demonic influences persist. The elusive Cult of Mormick still worships demons as deities, obtaining great power through cruel sacrifices. They go to great extents to please their masters, but even blur boundaries could still be crossed.

The Cult of Mormick were split into many factions, and the Spathosi episode was one of them. Members were taught to use blades and knives to conduct rituals and further their connections to their dark deities (and also to occasionally eliminate threats to the cult). Derum was a disciple who had earned his ceremonial blades through his invaluable service to the cult. Ambitious and strangely enthusiastic, he quickly mastered the many forms and rituals that were only expected from the Mormick Elders. But he could feel something was missing, and he still wanted to learn more. One night, while browsing through the cult's cryptic texts, he came across a rather intriguing depiction of a man transforming into a powerful beast. Below the picture was a forgotten chapter he had never been taught by the elders, including detailed instructions to perform a ritual. Never would he have imagined that this was the unspoken ritual, a practice forbidden even by the heathen worshippers. Blinded by his excitement and not knowing the consequences, he prepared a ceremonial dagger accordingly and performed the ritual.

Bright red blood seeped out from the open wound in his left arm. But the wound quickly stopped flowing, and within seconds, bat-like wings sprouted from his back, horns grew on the top of his forehead, and his teeth and nails changed to resemble fangs and claws. What ensued was a disaster for the cult. Using the ceremonial blades he had been gifted with at the very beginning of his discipleship, Derum took the lives of many peers and elders and destroyed many cult artefacts. At the height of his rampage, his power was drained and soon he had returned to his original self with the help of the Mormick Elders themselves.

Having tasted too much blood, his ceremonial blades had to be fed until they were sated, or the blades would begin taking lives themselves. Until the bloodlust was calmed, Derum was banished from the cult with his ceremonial blades to spare the lives of the cult's members from their cruel edges.

Q: Mark of Death
Type: No Target
Affects: Self
When activated, the nearest enemy hero to Derum is marked. Derum's move speed increases when running to attack the target within range.
- 500/800/1100/1400 range
- 50/60/70/80% movespeed bonus
- 600/900/1200/1500 movespeed bonus range
- 3 second duration
- 70 mana cost
- 9 second cooldown

His temporary banishment from the cult does not prevent him from obeying direct orders from his deities.

Notes:

W: Blade Rite
Type: Point Target
Affects: Enemies
Damage: Magical
Derum sends a large, enchanted sword in the target direction, piercing enemies along the way. This damages and silences enemies it touches.
- 1000 range
- 450 sword speed
- 200 sword radius
- 100/150/200/250 damage
- 2/3/4/5 second silence duration
- 110 mana cost

Imbued with demonic energy, the ceremonial sword transfers its curse to those injured by its edge.

Notes:

E: Dark Strength
Type: Toggle
Affects: Self
When toggled on, Derum takes periodic damage over time, but in turn he receives a significant damage bonus.
- 25 health drained per second
- 30/40/50/60 damage bonus
- 2 second cooldown after toggling off

Ceremonial blades drain their masters of their life energy but strengthens them greatly in exchange.

Notes:

R: Ceremonial Rebirth
Type: No Target
Affects: Self
Damage: Pure
Derum plunges a ceremonial knife into his left arm, dealing pure damage to himself and enemies in a small area. If he commits suicide, he will resurrect at his death location after 2 seconds as a full health melee demon. While in demon form, Derum gains additional health, move speed and attack speed, and Bloodlust becomes a passive. After a short duration, Derum returns to his normal form with whatever health he had left as a demon. If he does not commit suicide with this spell, the cool down is shortened significantly.
- 300 damage radius
- 250/325/400 damage
- 2 second resurrection delay
- +150/300/450 health
- +30/45/60 attack speed
- 9/12/15 second demon form duration
- 200/175/150 second cooldown (suicide)
- 50 second cooldown (non-suicide)

Upgraded by Aghanim's Scepter:

The forbidden ritual has to be accessed once more if Derum find himself in grave danger.

Hero responses

Finally, it's done! Introducing Derum, the Banished Blademaster. He is played as a powerful semi-carry and an anti-caster, and is supposed to lane as a solo-mid or safelane farmer. His first ability, Mark of Death, allows him to single out an enemy with Phantom Rush-esque speed. You could even play mind games like stopping suddenly while running to dodge AoE spells from your target if he tries to predict where you are going to end up during your run. His second ability, Blade Rite, allows him to do AoE damage and silence, good against casters who would silence you otherwise. It is important to prevent casters from using their spells because silences and long disables prevent him from using his ultimate ability, Ceremonial Rebirth. The ultimate can be used to simply deal damage to a target OR you could revive as a powerful demon by denying yourself with this ability. However, you need your health to be low enough to revive, and that's where Dark Strength comes in. You gain additional damage at the cost of health per second, and this allows you to get low enough to suicide with your ultimate.

This hero desperately needs health regeneration to sustain Bloodlust. A lifesteal of item of your choice as your first item might be a good idea. I might get a Diffusal Blade for the slow and a Manta Style to dispel silences and also to exploit the diffusal mana burn. Late game, Satanic will help him fuel his Bloodlust, and a BKB and MKB are also good items. This hero isn't a powerful late game carry, but he is still very strong in combat.
