Smoke is something you can always buy whenever and you don't use Blink Dagger just for positioning. To quickly travel across the map, to quickly blink > Dismember on a target like Anti-Mage then followup with a Meat Hook if he blinks or to get in range for someone that's just out of hook range even after you forcestaff or blink. To dodge incoming projectiles whether or not they're disjointable. It's that quick gab closer or the quick escape with either force or blink that makes Pudge that much more deadly than a statistical boost.

edit: I just prefer to get other items like Hood of Defiance or Shiva's Guard after blink/force since mobility is what helps me survive or get kills.

edit2: and also save teammates

And I get where you are coming from, but I just see blink as coming a bit later. A more beefy pudge during early to midgame transition can mean a huge difference, especially since he has no armor build up at all practically and you won't have a huge amount of kills or that many points in his passive yet.

I don't think pipe always a good idea.

Explain when to get certain items: pipe vs magical heroes, crimson guard is great against physical, and even AC if you have a great pushing line up and are against a lot of negative armor like slardar, venge, a natural medallion carrier.

Force is typically a defensive item used to kite BKB melee carries.

Blink is typically an offensive item used to position around wards or high vision heroes (Like NS during night time)

BKB can be viable for shutting down a physical damage hero with BKB (PA BKBs, you BKB and dismember PA, you both waste your BKB. Your team makes the better trade)

Explain how to lane against different heroes. When heroes can you fight for runes, which heroes do you have to submit runes to

Who are the best hook targets (Sniper)

Who are the worst hook targets (Tide)

Boot choices (Most go phase. You can tread if you swap often. Tranquils are rare)

Watching last hitting patterns (He keeps stutter stepping upwards. I should hook here)

Predicting last hits (He's going to last hit this melee creep, giving me a clear hook)

Predicting last hits with spells (QoP just hit the ranged creep once. This means she's going to scream the wave to farm it, giving me a clear hook)

Who is Pudge best against in the mid game?

Who is he worst against?

Which heroes can rotate for pudge mid (Lion), which cannot (Shadow Demon)

Which heroes can Pudge kill during the mid game? What heroes should Pudge avoid during the mid game? What heroes are killable with a support helping? What supports are best suited for pudge?

When should you use a smoke? When do you smoke supports? When are solo smokes worth it?

What runes do you gank with?

What runes should you return to lane with?

How to do prioritize hook targets? Which lane do should you kill, and why?

A good Pudge is extremely hard to play. He has to find the perfect balance between getting successful ganks, hiding in the fog to scare all lanes, and still get some farm for himself.
