(DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN THRESH, THE CHAIN WARDEN. THE ORIGINAL CHARACTER IS PROPERTY OF RIOT GAMES, AND ALL ASSOCIATED COMPANIES.)

The series introduction.

Well it's Thread here, with a little idea I thought of whilst playing League (sue me.)

Basically, what if I were to convert a League champion into a DotA hero format? Of course, the Lore would have to be the same, but the skills would no longer scale, and must compensate for that. Built in passives are allowed though. Some abilities will obviously have to be changed to make the mechanics fit, and some abilities will have to be altered altogether.

Well, here it is. Let's start of the series by taking a look at an interesting support champ/hero known as Thresh!

The Original Champion.

Thresh, the Chain Warden

Dire Intelligence
Base Strength: 19(+1.8)
Base Agility: 21(+2.0)
Base Intelligence: 25(+0 {see Damnation})
Base armour: 2
Base damage: 58
Movespeed: 305
Attack type: Ranged (think Razor-type ranged. Like, scythe attached to a whip)

Lore

Thresh is a twisted reaper whose hungry chains ensnare the souls of the living. A moment's hesitation at the sight of his ghostly visage and there is no escape. He leaves in his wake hollow corpses, their souls ripped loose and trapped in the sickly green light of his lantern. The Chain Warden takes sadistic joy in tormenting his victims, both before and after their deaths. His grim task is never complete, and he stalks the land for ever more resolute spirits to unravel.

Thresh carves careful, deliberate paths through the World. He handpicks his targets individually, devoting his full attention to each soul in turn. He isolates and toys with them, gradually eroding their sanity with his twisted, maddening humor. Once Thresh takes an interest in a soul, he does not relent until he possesses it. He then drags those he captures back to the Underscape for an unimaginably dreadful fate. This is his only purpose.

Little is known about the Chain Warden's past, and many of the details live only in nursery rhymes and campfire tales. They tell of a sadistic jailer from centuries past who took great delight in torturing his wards. Patient and brutal, he used a variety of methods to break his victims' minds before their bodies succumbed to his grisly designs. Chains were the jailer's preferred instruments of terror. Their shrill scrape marked his dreadful approach and promised agony to those he visited. His dark reign went unchallenged until his prisoners escaped during a massive riot. They overwhelmed him, and without ceremony or remorse, hanged him from his own chains. Thus began the unlife of the horrible spectre known as Thresh, or so the tales go.

Thresh now haunts the land, leaving an aftermath of horror and despair. However, there is a devious purpose behind his dark machinations, and the meager spirits of average men are insufficient. He seeks stronger souls. Only when he has broken the wills of the most resilient warriors will he finally have what he needs.

Skills

[Built-In Passive] Damnation

Thresh does not gain Intelligence each level. Instead,
every time an enemy hero dies within 1700 units of Thresh, they
drop a soul that dissipates after 10 seconds if not collected. If it
is collected, Thresh gains 0.5 intelligence. Creeps that die
within 900 units of the Chain Warden have an 18% chance to also drop
a soul.

"Death? No...Nothing so simple."

Q: Death sentence (Click ground)

After a 0.3 second channel time, Thresh launches
his chain, attaching itself to the first enemy unit that
it hits. When tethered, the affected unit is pulled halfway towards
the Chain Warden, and stunned for a duration afterwards.

Range: 900/1000/1100/1200
Damage: 100/145/200/245
Speed(units per second): 500
Stun duration: 1.8
Cooldown: 19/17/15/13
Mana cost: 120

"Wretched mongrels get leashed!"

W: Haunted Passage (AoE, Click ground, Channel)

Thresh summons a malefic light from the Underscape, slowing
and dealing percentage based damage to enemies who step into the
radius.

AoE: 350
Percentage of current HP as damage: 2/4/6/8
Slow(%): 25/30/35/40
Duration: 2/3/4/5
Cooldown: 26/24/22/20
Mana cost: 130/120/110/100

"I am the thing that goes bump in the night!"

E: Flay (Line)

The Chain Warden swings his chain in a large arc,
damaging and knocking back all enemies caught in its path.

Line(units): 600
Damage: 225/250/275/300
Knockback(units): 200
Cooldown: 15
Mana cost: 80/95/110/125

"Flayed ones? They must have met ME, then!"

R: Chains of torment (Active, AoE)

After a formation time, massive barbed chains form a perimeter
around Thresh's current location. Any enemies that attempt to walk out or into
the circle will be dealt an initial damage, ministunned, and then take a bleeding
damage over time.

Formation time: 2(Aghanims upgrade: 1.3)
Duration: 4/5/6
AoE: 500
Initial damage: 150/175/200
Ministun: 0.2
Bleed damage: 25/50/75
Bleed duration: 4(Aghanims upgrade: 5)
Cooldown: 80/75/70
Mana cost: 200/225/250

"Solitary confinement...For five!"
SO! for any league player, or anybody who knows what the Original Thresh is, how did I do?

For others, would you like to see more like this, or is the Riot hate too stronk :>?

Yes well it isn't meant to be. Something that not only shields from damage AND can save more reliably than a pudge hook? That's more broken than it sounds in DotA, atleast.

Soo, I made an ability which can still save allies, but also has a negative effect on enemies too.

It's only copyright infringement if you use the copyrighted information for commercial purposes (at least in this case) eg. Earning money or selling stuff on this page using the idea for Thresh. It should be okay to make 'fan stuff' (derivative works) in this case, or Thresh fan arts will also be considered copyright infringements.
