Lore:
Protectors of the heavens and creatures revered by the Skywrath, Sky Guardians roam across the horizon, keeping up with the sun's pace in the sky. Vigilant and powerful, Skybirds swoop down from above the clouds to aid those who fight for the greater good. Often, a single Sky Guardian can swing the entire battle in its allies' favour with its mastery over the elements. However, as the ages passed, more conflicts have arisen, and the Sky Guardians lack the power to stop all of hem at once. And so the Sky Elders began meeting on the Roost, the highest peak on mount Infinity, to discuss the conflicts that they should involve themselves in. Almost unanimously, they agreed that the defense of the Radiant Ancient was of utmost importance if they were to keep their homes and bases around the world safe. Thus, they sent their strongest guardian, Maltius, to stop evil's reign, in their hopes of creating peace throughout the land.

Q: Turbulence
Type: Target-Point
Affects: Enemies
Damage: Magical
Maltius produces a powerful air current that travels in a straight line, dealing damage to enemies in its path and making them stumble aside.
- 1400 range
- 400 knockback in 0.8/1.2/1.6/2 seconds
- 100/150/200/250 damage
- 110/120/130/140 mana cost
- 19/17/15/13 second cooldown

A flap of Sky Guardian wings produces strong gusts that even expert wind mages cannot bend.

Notes:

W: Whisk Away
Type: Target-Unit
Affects: Allies
Maltius swoops in and carries the target ally on it's back. During this time, he gains additional movement speed and can fly over impassable terrain for a short duration. Allies are fully active when riding on Maltius and can attack and cast spells as per normal. Activating this skill again causes Maltius to land and lets its ally resume combat on the ground.
- 300 cast range
- +30/40/50/60 movement speed
- 3/4/5/6 second duration
- 60 mana cost
- 14 second cooldown

Though the Sky Guardians are not keen on it, they function as excellent mounts for capable ranged warriors should the need arise.

Notes:

E: Cloudguard
Type: Target-Unit
Affects: Enemies
Damage: Magical
Maltius protects the target ally with a shield made with its own feathers. The first instance of damage or waiting until the end of the duration causes the shield to expand rapidly, pushing enemies outwards.
- 700 cast range
- 3/4/5/6 second delay
- 400/450/500/550 expansion radius
- 70/75/80/85 mana cost
- 35/30/25/20 second cooldown

The sudden precipitation of clouds on the ground signals a Sky Guardian defensive manoeuvre.

Notes:

R: Windstorm
Type: Toggle
Affects: Enemy Heroes
Damage: Magical
When toggled on, nearby enemies experience a Windstorm Aura, slowing their movement speed gradually. If the target enemy remains within range for long enough, it is raised up into the air and takes damage on its way down. Enemies that have recently been cyclone'd are unaffected by the aura for 7 seconds.
- 600 aura radius
- 10/15/20% slow increase per second
- 2/2.5/3 second cyclone after 5 seconds under the aura
- 100/150/200 cyclone damage
- 75 activation mana cost
- 35/40/45 mana per second

Even an entity as powerful as the wind submits itself to a Sky Guardian's command.

Notes:

Meet the powerful ganker, initiator of teamfights, saviour of allies: Maltius, the Sky Guardian! Not only can it do all that, but I can also carry a deadly ganker into position to kill a hero. Most importantly, this hero has great synergy with Sniper. Whisk Away lets Maltius carry Sniper into position to begin sniping, and it can also be used to save him from a dangerous predicament. The Sniper can also be shielded with Cloudguard to push enemies away to an ideal distance for the squishy hero to continue shooting.

Really well designed hero. I have no real issues with it.von Whisk Away, if you're over impassable terrain when the duration ends what happens?

I see. So you just have to watch your time carefully? If you're carrying another hero on your back then your team loses two people for 8 seconds. If you land on impassable terrain you should take small damage and get ported to the nearest clear area, in my opinion. Sound good?

So you mean that if I use Whisk Away, both me and my teammate can't do anything?

Nice hero.

I think if you mess up the Whisk Away and get stuck, too bad. It's like you can get stuck using blink. Just gotta practice to not mess it up.

Yeah, you could buy a blink, and if there's a guy that's really annoying on your team, you pick him up, drop him on a cliff, then blink out... XD

Hehe. I wish I could do that all of the time. Any body get that situation where Pudge blinks to a cliff and hooks everything around it?

Yup. Have you ever seen a Rubick throw every ne up a cliff, then Lich comes along and drops a Chain Frost on them? Not to mention a Weaver killing all the couriers they were trying to deliver TP's!
