Hey guys, so I updated the guide against and added a new section(positioning) andddddd PICTURES(only like 3). Hopefully patch 7.00(???) will give Drow some buffs and I can write about them.

Kite the mary poppins out of 'em!

Hey, sorry I just now saw your comment. I guess I should clarify more, Force Staff is verrry situational. So your endgame item list just replace the force staff with a manta style and you will be good to go.

The only place you get force staff is if there is a hero like Riki where you just need to get out from under the smoke cloud, its not really a substitute for Shadow blade, just an alternative for different scenarios.

Frost arrows do no damage themselves, they only slow movement speed, so attacks that have Frost Arrows on them will still do physical damage.

Thanks for reading!

I love this guide! I've recently got over Sniper, and wanted to try Drow Ranger. The comments are insightful too. Still not sure whether I can handle a Force Staff over a shadow blade though. Only 600 unit push...

When Drow Ranger uses Frost Arrows is it magic damage or still regular damage?

So would a good endgame item list be: Daedalus, Force Staff, a type of boots, Satanic, Butterfly, Black King Bar?

Hey, thanks for the comment! I'm glad you liked the guide. And yeah, it's nice to not be hogging the courier haha

Nice guide :) I had almost the same item build and now I know more about what to do with it... :D

I also like this build, because you need only one courier about 2:00 game-time (2 parts of Aquila ring) and till almost late game you can buy everything in side shop. :)

Thanks for the comment, but I don't quite get what you mean with the E-Blade. About the Eye of Skadi, I just don't think it's worth it when you already have a slow attack, I would rather just toggle between Frost Arrows and lifesteal. For the gold, I think other items can offer Drow more.

Thanks for reading!

Ethereal Blade deserve a place against gap-closer, at least in lower level game. Sometime you just wanted to tp out. Just ethereal and manta if you wanted for immediate attack while disabling carry for 6 second (sync with halberd). or you can force staff and manta depending on situation. Skadi now sync with lifesteal so it might be alternative, and I deemed it better than frost arrow in late game. I know it's NOT cost-effective, so its very situational mainly to counter carry.

Good thing that you removed Ethereal Blade in the updates version. However, since 6.79 Drow has also lost her awesome nightvision, so the part you dedicate to point out she has 1700 nightvision isn't that relevant anymore either.

I may have to disappoint you, because the Etheral Blade option was really inventive and nice, but since the very recent 6.79 patch, it has lost its worth. It now isn't possible anymore to cast Frost Arrows while in ethereal form, since you can not use any orb effects while your attack is restricted (such as ethereal or frostbite). And if you can't cast your Frost Arrows anymore while in ethereal form, this item has lost almost its entire worth. It may still give you +40 agility and a nice nuke, but since it makes you more vulnerable to nukes and more importantly: it renders you unable to attack, it is not worth its price anymore.
