OMG

awesome!!!

questions:

1. a lot fo the time id lose track of who or what i was controlling. how do you avoid this?

2. using skills on creeps is indvidual but move orders are not?

3. i dont know what time but i had 3 centuars and a hell bear and i killed someone. i have no idea how i did this. all my focus was on getting the skills off from each unit and my chen. it was only afterwards that i realized that he was already dead. is there an easier way to micro?

4. i did not know chen could rosh. what creeps should i use? when and where?

5. a WHOLE lot fo my time was spent trying to organise a push but most of the time it didnt happen early cause my team needed hp or mana. when we tried to push as 5 the enemy would be ready. is there a way to use chen safely with split pushing so i dont have to rely on my team so much?

6. my fingers hurt so ******** much. thats not a question thats just me telling you .... chen is physically painful to play. how u do it i have no idea.

I WILL DESTROY YOU ALL.... WITH FLUFFY BUNNIES

I'm no Chen player because I don't have the skills to put out a good micro, but I would like to congratule you Angelo for the great initiative here to help people with constructive criticism and good advices. Maybe I can try to play Chen later with some extensive training, with a question or two.

Honestly, you just need more experience I assign my hotkeys like this:
1. Chen
2. Creeps
3. Chen + Creeps
4. Melee stun/slow creeps
5. Dark Troll Summoner

I just use my hotkeys and I can keep track of the hero/creeps relatively easily. Some creeps you don't need to pay attention to after you do something. Like after I slow with a red ursa, I just right click them to a support and let them die. I don't need to waste more micro on them. They will zone out a support, and die to a tower most likely.

2. using skills on creeps is indvidual but move orders are not?

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking here. I move my creeps as a group with the numbers 2 or 3. I keep my DTS up front grouped with my melee creeps, and everything else far back. With Chen at the very back of the group. I constantly rearrange them while running around to set up for potential skirmishes based on heroes that are MIA and what teammates I have with me. I think that's what you're asking. I cast each individual spell on a creep, yes. So if I have 2 red ursas and 2 minotaurs I will micro them like this, with the ursas in front:

3, right click (Everything attack this guy)
1, Q, Shift + W, Shift + Right click (Chen slow and nuke, then attack)
2, Q, tab, Q, tab, Q, Wait 2 seconds, tab Q. (Ursa slow, ursa slow, minotaur stomp, wait, minotaur stomp)

3. i dont know what time but i had 3 centuars and a hell bear and i killed someone. i have no idea how i did this. all my focus was on getting the skills off from each unit and my chen. it was only afterwards that i realized that he was already dead. is there an easier way to micro?

The best advice I can give you is to right click creeps to heroes and forget about them after they use their spell (they only have one). So I click a minotaur to stomp an enemy, then I just let them attack the enemy until they are killed. I don't micro my creeps to live unless it's very convenient for me. I'm more concerned with watching spells and cooldowns so I know when to send someone home, when to mek, and when to ult. Just keep practicing

4. i did not know chen could rosh. what creeps should i use? when and where?

You typically want a basi ring for armor, owl, ursa, and minotaur (Or frost mage). You can do a rosh around 9 minutes or 13-14 minutes. Rosh gets stronger every 5 minutes, so you want to try to rosh right before a 5 minute increment when you're at your strongest and he's at his weakest (4, 9, 14, 19, etc). You can bring 1-2 other heroes, because otherwise the rosh is a bit slow.

5. a WHOLE lot fo my time was spent trying to organise a push but most of the time it didnt happen early cause my team needed hp or mana. when we tried to push as 5 the enemy would be ready. is there a way to use chen safely with split pushing so i dont have to rely on my team so much?

The reason your team was low was because you skipped mana boots. Arcane boots allow for mek spam, and mana sustain for your team. Consider a more reliable healing support to help your push (Like WD or Dazzle) if you're rushing mek. You need to support your team with HP and mana after every fight when you push. Mana boots also help you creeps by giving them extra nukes. That means extra wave clear, and faster towers.

Chen can split push best with ancients. Just run them into a lane and let them right click creeps down. That's it. Stick with your team and teleport your creeps back to you (By casting E on yourself. It has a 4 second delay). You now have favorable creep equilibrium, and you should be able to push.

6. my fingers hurt so ******** much. thats not a question thats just me telling you .... chen is physically painful to play. how u do it i have no idea.

I played Warcraft 2 when I was in elementary school. Then SC, BW, WC3, TFT, and C&C. I've always enjoyed RTS games, so maybe I'm just used to it. To avoid finger pain from long games, remember to keep pushing and end the game ASAP so you can get a heating pad on those hands. ;)

This champ is so bad. Just pick Enchantress against him, and kill him with his own creep at level 1. Or just Devour his creeps. Death Pact, Hand of Midas. Now jokes aside, the reason why Chen is so different compared to Enchantress is because they cater towards different enemy line-ups.

You pick Enchantress to shut down a lane. Easiest way yo do so is to get a harpy, send it to a lane, start spamming chain lightning all over. This however means that you missed your window of opportunity to gank early yourself. Means you can get a quick midas, which is good, because it benefits Impetus, both in timing and damage (thanks to the extra attack speed).

Enchantress is really good against a team of right clickers, thanks to Untouchable (really good against Legion Commander, Faceless Void, amazing against Tiny) because they cannot kill you thanks to the slowed attack speed. Can transition very well thanks to Impetus because it deals pure damage. Want to deal 1k damage as early as 15 minutes in? Get a Force Staff, Impetus once, hit again and force. Second hit should deal 400 damage on average thanks to the extra force damage at level 1 Impetus. Get some HP and mana on her, and she becomes a threat. (orchid and atos come to mind).

Chen however, is very different. You pick Chen to push and that's it. With the 4 creeps you can get, you can have a lot of auras and control in fights. Chen, however, cannot just kill a lane. If he decides to help a lane, he'll stay level one for a long time. And you better start praying for that wildkin so you can farm the stacks, because if that doesn't happen, you're done. You become very susceptible to ganks because you're level one. Walking creep converter. His aghs upgrade is infinitely more useful than bambi's. Granite aura is too good. Lizards just shred towers. Dragons are meh, splash is decent I guess.

Can gank early as well, but less effective. Needs level 3 to be as efficient as bambi at 1 without test of faith. Hand of God is insane as well, especially if you have aghs. Can save allies or turn around fights with the press of a single button.

Point is, neither are better, each fits a certain situation. Just my 2 cents. Please no copy pastarino excepy Angelo if he wants to use it in his guide. Nah, you can copy pasta it all over. Don't really care.

Pick heroes that damage towers. Like Lesh, SF, CK, Lycan, Terrorblade

Don't pick heroes that peak very late into the game like Medusa. Don't pick heroes that rely on the jungle like SF or Batrider or it hurts Chens early game.

Against what heroes/team would you pick chen? Against what wouldnt you?

You would pick Chen against greedy line ups that have easily gankable mids, and hard carries that need items and need to farm the jungle (Void, AM, etc...), and a team with little to no AoE if possible. Once you push your long lane (Their short lane) and chen takes over their jungle, the opponent carries get zero farm.

Do not pick Chen versus AA, because he shuts down your ult and mek. Don't pick him versus earthshaker because of ult. Don't pick against sniper because Chen can't close distance alone, so if sniper uses MoM your creeps are just free gold (You need someone with a blink to initiate dives like QoP, Storm, etc). Don't pick Chen versus BH or Riki because they will just sit in your jungle killing your creeps and stealing your levels. I would also not pick him against Weaver unless you're very confident in your micro. If he gets a linkens, your creep combination and micro have to be perfect to kill him. Also Slark. Once slark gets Shadowblade he will just pick you over and over and over.

Which is worth more (Which would you rather save in a fight), your hero or your creeps?

It's always better to save your hero, or any hero with E. The only time I ever save my creeps are if I'm split pushing have aghs. Then I will bring them to me when someone goes on them to stop the push. If they are good creeps and about to die (Like 2 ancient rock golems) I will ult to save them during the 3s delay. Otherwise I will never use my E on a creep in battle, or micro my creeps over my hero.

Your creeps are there to tank, and die. Occasionally they stun, slow, trap, etc... But most of the time they're just tanking tower shots and zoning heroes.
