introduction

Wraith King is a hero that can fulfill various Roles he can take the place of a carry if needed or can be the team's tank but you must be careful while you are playing him since you are playing your king be wary not to send him to his death or he will say 'execute all my advisers' which will be you and remember to give him time to swagger so he won't get angry now lets see what makes our king a good hero and fun to play

Pros / Cons

Pros

1-Super Tanky due to Vampiric Aura and Reincarnation

2- doesn't need a lot of item's to be effective Armlet of Mordiggian is more than enough to start killing

3- low cool down on the nuke only 8 second's

4- easy to play

5- can easily help get a Roshan Kill because of his Vampiric Aura

Cons

1-can easily be kited (the guide will help reduce this as much as possible)

2-can have little problem's with mana burner's such as Diffusal Blade and Mana Break and Invoker EMP

Wraith King's skills

Wraithfire Blast which got a very low Cool down of 8 seconds and deals 300 damage at level 4 add to the fact that it is 2 seconds stun and 2 seconds 20% slow which allows your king to catch up and kill the traitors (enemy heroes)

Vampiric Aura your free Vladmir's Offering with no armor bonus but with even more lifesteal than even Vladmir's Offering which makes just the presence of Wraith King in teamfights a game changer because a level 4 Vampiric Aura grants an amazing 30% lifesteal

Mortal Strike your free Daedalus without damage bonus this helps a lot by skipping Daedalus and going for another item makes your king very dangerous the moment you get a decent damage because level 4 of Mortal Strike gives 275% Crit Damage

Reincarnation in my opinion one of the best Ultimate skills because this is not only a free Aegis of the Immortal but insane Slow to both attack speed and movement speed the number 75% slow alone makes everyone who kills you hard to run or chase your other allies or allows your allies to start the fight with your slow while you get up and join the fight the slow lasts 5 seconds now which is enough time to get up and start hitting

Wraith king skills and why take it at this time (for the carry wraith king)

Wraithfire Blast maxing this out at early game is very good because heroes tend to be easier to get killed with magical damage at start so you can use this to start a gank or deal good damage if you are trying to get a kill in your lane so maxing this out gives you a nice damage while your right click damage is still not that good this will help out

Vampiric Aura to hell with this guide getting something that will push the lane. hey wait a minute lets get our math up for a minute for our king's sake 15% lifesteal at level 1 and the creeps does about 17 damage break that up with 15% they get about 4 health per hit that will not push the lane but by 1 bit you can easily get this down by hitting your bad peasants while the creeps get nearly nothing you and your lane partner actually get a good HP with each swing so remember this will not push lane but will ready you for excellent lane

Mortal Strike what can i say???? your crits do you want to fight without your crits so the other carries laugh at your king HELL NO get the king's crits ready and let him go smash some skulls with that 275% crit

Reincarnation care to think how happy the enemy gets when they get a hero kill well they can kiss it good bye your king is not a fragile hero he gathers up and not ask but demands a round 2 at the enemy but with his full health and their hurt health maxing this out as soon as possible is best each level lowers cool down by 100 seconds on level 4 this will be 60 second cool down so you can just get up get back a little then come back with your Reincarnation ready again if you die and get up to kill someone tell him this 'i came back to take that head' or 'i died now it's your turn to die' and give that peasant the what for

Wraith king skills and why take it at this time (for the tank Wraith King)

Wraithfire Blast taking only 1 point in this so you can get a stun and a slow for you and your lane partner to do damage and maybe get a kill not maxing this out because you will need to get tanky very fast

Vampiric Aura one of the big steps that will get you nice health back up getting some points in this will make you feel more solid in surviving more damage because the more you hit the more health you get

Mortal Strike the only reason you max this before you max your nuke is because more right click damage means more health steal and the more you steal the tankier you are

Reincarnation what makes you very good at this tank role highest strength gain in the game is Centaur Warrunner he gets 3.80 strength each level and Wraith King gets 2.90 strength each level but he does not have your ultimate because if we calculate the health at level 25 with no items Wraith King gets to 2259 at level 25 while Centaur Warrunner reaches 2696 he have like 500 more than your king but you will rise again because of Reincarnation which makes your king have like 4500 health getting you to the apex of tanking

item's for Wraith King ( the carry King)

Starting Item's

1- Quelling Blade makes last hitting much easier and if there is Bane in enemy lane with his Enfeeble he will lower your chance for last hit your Quelling Blade will help you a bit with this problem

2- Tango helps keeping you in lane because as a carry you need to stay in lane and farm as much as you can

Early game

1- Hand of Midas get this before even Power Treads because the earlier you get Hand of Midas the more your farm will get better and not mentioning the 30 increase in attack speed

2- Power Treads getting this on your king is an awesome choice for him because if you can tread switch this will make for the best boots in the game for a carry Wraith King

Mid Game

1- Armlet of Mordiggian if you ask me i would say this is an awesome item for a tanky strength heroes because they will endure the drain of HP and get awesome boost in damage and HP and if you can do Armlet activates you can make it a nice item to survive chasers

2- Heart of Tarrasque guess what? every Strength hero likes this item why???? Because it gives the most strength in the game and its awesome passive regenerate will keep you in battle and that's something you want while being a carry you want to finish fighting and still have more gas left in the king's tank


Late Game

1- Assault Cuirass why get this instead of the other 2 late game item's wait till you hear this this bad boy right here will get your attack speed up and running and gives that ****ty thing you call armor insane boost and help your friendly peasants with their attack speed and armor at the same times reducing the bad peasants armor rendering them open to your king's attack

2- Abyssal Blade you get this not for the big damage but for the Bash that will help your king catch up on your enemies especially the active stun because it is assured you will get a stun on your target and the stun passes through magic immunity

3- Desolator why the hell do they still have armor even after you got your Assault Cuirass well won't hurt to jack their armor more get this thing and starts hammering on your enemies like a man possessed or even better like a possessed king



Situation Item's (don't get these until one of the specified reasons will happen)


1- Magic Wand you have a spell spammer on your lane Lion he will spam Mana Drain and nukes so why not fill your Magic Wand with some charges that will help you later give this small horn faced demon some beating he won't forget you can get this when there is Bristleback because his low cool down spells means he will spam them real good and that will help you charge your harry potter's wand and get some charges and kill that small peasant

2- Soul Ring big item for your king if there is one of these heroes any hero that uses this item Diffusal Blade or Mana Break because it will drain your mana to the point you won't have enough for Reincarnation so using your Soul Ring before you die will get you in really good place for another Reign on your Kingdom as King after all a Kingdom without a King is just a Dom

3- Blink Dagger what? you just keep coming here and say you got kited and you lost another kill???? guess what valve right now really loves Wraith King because Blink Dagger now requires 0 mana to use that makes it an awesome item for your King so get a dagger and jump on your enemies and watch them fall not flee

4- Divine Rapier if you feel funny and really good or you think this is your only chance to win then try it go for the big risk that is 300 damage but if you die you give it to your enemies and that's something you don't want to do trust me but still another chance at victory is better than none

5- Monkey King Bar you get this only in 1 case EVASION or BLIND because ton of damage won't really do a lot when you are getting evaded each time you attack so get this nice Bar from a monkey king to a wraithy king

6- Black King Bar now this is an item that really demands every heroes attention because immune Wraith King is very hard to kill and magic immune will completely block Diffusal Blade and Mana Break so it will allow you to get your Reincarnation upon dying and get up with a laugh get this item if you are getting focused with alot of stun and CCs remember some skills will pass through it but there is no reason not to protect yourself from the ones that don't pass the immunity

7- Battlefury if there is Phantom Lancer you will really need this item to clear his army of illusions it's damage bonus is really good with it's stats bonus so you will need to pick this up when there is a lot of illusions in the game

Item's for Wraith King (the tanky King)

Starting item's

1- Stout Shield helps to block some damage -20 damage is very good at start

1- Tango keeps your king up and well by the way Wraith King loves to eat trees so he can make a wraithy trees

2- Gauntlets of Strength grants a bonus to your Strength means more health point and a little boost to damage will be upgraded to bracer later on

3- Circlet grants 2 to all stats will make you tankier and have more mana on your pocket

early game

4- Bracer for tankier King and better mana pool to get some stuns for the kills

5- Chainmail some armor to help reduce the damage taken

6- Boots of Speed time to make your Wraithy feet walk faster

mid game

1- Arcane Boots i know little strange but i figured a little mana boost to you and your allies will be really good since your natural tankiness will give you some extra money to help your friends so get some mana up

2- Blade Mail if you are going to die for the first time and triggering your Reincarnation why not die with some usefulness and use these reflects and hit some enemies with it make them pay they hit their rightful king

3- Heaven's Halberd grants Strength bonus and 25% evasion and some slow with its Maim and the ability to use disarm which will stop some right clickers and help team fights so getting this will increase overall tankiness because of evasion and gives some team fight help with its disarm

late game

1- Black King Bar you won't use that when you still have your Reincarnation off cool down NOPE and a thousand NOPEs because in this case you need the enemy to burst you down with their cool down skills so you can raise up and come's your friends they will be safer when enemies already used some of their skills the moment you get up pop your magic immune and start team fighting it will be much easier

2- Assault Cuirass the armor it provides will help you and your team to sustain damage while dishing out some pain at the enemy team with increased attack speed and reducing enemy armor it will amplify all your right clickers damage since you are a tank you will be in the middle of the fight which will make the aura take full effect

3- Refresher Orb this is very risky at some points but it's super fun having 3 full healths is very fun to watch but at the same time watch your mana carefully because using this will cost 450 mana points which is a hard blow at your mana this is where your Arcane Boots will come into play because it will increase your mana pool to use this item

Mid Laning with wraith King

Wraith King is not Outworld Devourer in the middle lane but he can go mid with the right situation here is some tip's on how to lane mid with your green King

1-while you are in mid lane the biggest thing you keep your eyes upon is rune spawning because you will need these to keep on the following tactic

2-spam your nuke only when you find another rune to replace your mana so you can always keep your mana up and the bottle ready for any hard uses

3-take note of the invisibility/haste rune don't waste this rune by drinking on from the bottle or getting 1 hit on your lane but try to gank the other lanes the one that need's help or the one you think you will get easy kill from

4-try to use your low health point at some time's to your advantage your

Reincarnation have 75% slow a little insane plan is you go to the other lane and gank your enemies with very low health so you can die and activate your slow then your lane partners can get the jump on them while slowed you will get up and join the frey (don't use this tactic unless you are getting a sure kill and you need the Reincarnation slow to secure the kill because of the long cool down time this could be a waste)

5-try to get ganking item's when you are playing mid if your team got another carry that is farming in the side lanes make yourself a good ganker with your Wraithfire Blast you will have a lot of successful ganks

Item's for Wraith King (the Mid Ganking King)

Starting Item's

1- Bottle 1 thing is collect runes and offers a good regeneration to both mana and health you just have to keep an eye for runes to collect to fill it again which will keep you up and running for your lane to farm

Early Game

1- Phase Boots the reason i chose this instead of the Power Treads is because this one offers more movement speed and a nice phase to move through the creeps so they don't stall your chase or your gank plus a nice bonus damage

2- Blink Dagger will help you get up close and personal with the enemies which is what you want here because you are all about melee and the new buff to Blink Dagger which costs 0 mana allows it to be an awesome item on Wraith King

Mid Game

1- Black King Bar the magic immunity will allow you to initiate safely with your Blink Dagger or you can use your magic immunity after you get up so you can make use of your slow

2- Heaven's Halberd Evasion + Disarm = awesome teamfights. always focus the enemies carry with your disarm so you can stop his right clicking attacks and give your team more chance at winning the team fights

Late Game

1- Abyssal Blade bonus health + decent damage boost + passive and active stun this item will make your game a lot easier because it will stall enemies from running because of bashes and will grant you more damage for your crits

2- Shiva's Guard Awesome intelligence boost will completely end all your mana problems and awesome boost in armor as well with a slow and active movement speed slow which will allow you to make full initiation by starting like this. Blink Dagger + Shiva's Guard + Black King Bar or you can go like this. Blink Dagger + Reincarnation + Shiva's Guard + Black King Bar with 2 heavy slows you are going to have an awesome teamfights with this build and initiation

some tactics in playing Wraith King

1- while in combat and you just got your stun try to hit then move in front of your enemy so you can maximize your number of hit's

2-try to use the selfless blinking to the enemy team if you must since you will raise again with your Reincarnation the enemy team will have cool down time's while your team will come awesome and ready to fight while the enemy suffering from your 75% slow

3-if you kill Roshan always try to get the other carries to pick the Aegis of Immortal because after all 2 heroes getting up is better than 1 you always have your Reincarnation if anything goes wrong so give them the Aegis of the Immortal will make teamfights better

4-try to learn tread and armlet switching because it will make you a much better player at Dota changing treads when mana needed and armlet when HP is needed is a big part of the play

5-remember if you are playing carry Wraith King doesn't mean that there needs to be no other hard carry so giving other carries their farm is always a good idea 2 carries better than 1

6- try to get a stun lane partner will help you get kills early in the game and try to learn chain stuns to max duration

7-if you can die to save your partner then don't hesitate to do it since you will just trigger Reincarnation while if your partner dies he will die and wait for respawn

8-always keep some mana for your Reincarnation unless you are sure to get a kill from your next stun

9- don't ever think you are very hard to kill because tower diving at start is never a good thing unless you are sure of a kill

Friend's and Foe's

Friend's

1- Lion can help your get kill's early game because of his Earth Spike and Hex combo

2- Lina with her high DPS will surely secure some kill's at early game

3- Sven he will give you the almighty Movement speed with his Warcry to help stop the enemies from Kiting you

4- Crystal Maiden will bring slow,freeze,and mana regeneration to help you with your mana issues early game and her frost slow will surely secure kill's if you know how to chain stun with your Wraithfire Blast

5- Keeper of the Light will give your mana to ensure you can Reincarnation every time and can keep the enemy heroes away during lanes to help secure your farm

Foes

1- Anti-Mage this guy I HATE HIM... GOD REMOVE HIM FROM GAME , because his Mana Break can keep your King down without using Reincarnation that's the problem and his Blink will Kite you even further (you can avoid this by building Soul Ring and switching your Power Treads to intelligence you still need a perfect timming to do it)

2- Phantom Lancer his army of illusion's + Diffusal Blade which players tend to build it on him = 0 mana, means no Reincarnation (you can avoid this by building Soul Ring and switching your Power Treads to intelligence you still need a perfect timming to do it)

3- Lion using his Mana Drain again mean's no Reincarnation (you can avoid this by building Soul Ring and switching your Power Treads to intelligence you still need a perfect timming to do it)

4- Nyx Assassin Same REASON as before takes your mana (you can avoid this by building Soul Ring and switching your Power Treads to intelligence you still need a perfect timming to do it)

5- Terrorblade he doesn't have any mana drain but his Reflection will get illusion of you that carry your Vampiric Aura and when he kills you first time you will get up with Reincarnation right? time to kill him NOW is that Right peasant, you will answer: no My king because he will Sunder your full health and give you his 25% health so he can kill you for good this time just don't solo this guy ever
