A level of smoke screen at one is a must as the silence and slow can easily stop a first blood attempt on you, blink at lv 2 is for the same reason, getting 2 levels of backstab makes last hitting very easy, but since you shouldn't really be looking for hero kills (prioritize farming at this stage) you should max blink next-you are an easy to kill before and even after your ulti and the logic between having a 5sec blink rather than a 20sec blink is pretty obvious.

Item

A quick vangard will allow you to have some hp regen in lane and enough hp to comfortably sit on agi treds without much risk of dying, getting this early ensures a plesant laning experience.

Diffusal is bought for the slow (combined with smoke), the large agi gain and the feedback, no further explanation is really required.

I don't understand at what point riki players thought that a sange and yasha was a good item on this hero (you already have 2 slows and a blink, u need another %change slow?) MANTA STYLE is clearly better, the split allows you to burn dusts without wasting diff charges, the 33%damage increase is great on riki as your getting only agi items, the feedback works on all illusion (anti mage style), they get the backstab modifier and if really nessessary you can use your illusions for scouting as they are invis. get this item after your diffusal.

Butterfly is the obvious next item.

I only mention ethereal coz if your at this stage (manta treds vangard diffusal butterfly) then either your having a REALLY long game or your just pub stomping now, ethereal does give you an escape and is the highest agi item in the game, also, by this stage you will have around 250agi so the actual blast is near one shotting supports.

DON'T GET VLADS, it gives no agility, if you really want it get it after your manta/diffusal or butterfly, the only decent thing about the item is the 15%damage buff MID/LATE GAME, but i really don't recommend it (i'm recomending ethereal on a hero with no nukes over this, thats how bad it is) ask a hero such as night stalker or omniknight or even a tide to get it, its a very good aura item, why get major aura items on hard carries?

illusions don't get the backstab modifier, it is ony a visual thing to confuse the enemy. like how naga siren's illusions all throw nets, but only 1 is real.
and vanguard isn't really needed, it delays your diffusal a lot, and doesn't give much benefit to riki from nukers, which are his main gankers early on.
