Introduction

Skeleton King was my first hero to learn just because of how easy he is to manage his abilities. Recommended to all new players just for that reason and the fact that potentially he can shove his sword up his opponents tight ********. Because Skeleton King has no balls(anatomy speaking, Skeletons don't have body organs), he punish's the living by attacking their balls/vagina's. Graphic details lay among this guide.

EARLY GAME: 1-9

IF YOU WANT TO GO O.J. SIMPSON ON YOUR LANE, YOU NEED A LANING PARTNER THAT IS A RANGED HERO OR HAS A STUN. ACTUALLY THAT IS A NECESSITY
Here is my take on the early laning phase. When laning, don't harass the enemy with your Hell Fire Blast every time you have a compulsive feeling to do so. Real men go up to their enemy and slash at their face up close(****ing show them that Skeleton King doesn't take no ****). The Stun of Hell Fire Blast is far more useful than the actual damage. So for example, I use my stun when I know my creeps/tower can get hits in.
P.S. WHEN YOU ARE LANING AGAINST A LOW HP HERO STAB THEM IN THEIR "NO NO" PARTS WHENEVER YOU GET A CHANCE

WTF WHY IS THERE NO VAMPIRE AURA? ****ING NOOOB GUIDE!
Let me whisper in your ear, the ****ing reason why is because Vampire Aura affects your creeps as well. This can put you in an awkward position, so try to understand that the creep wave will push towards the enemies tower, thus giving you, and your incompetent lane partner, less farm.
WHY DO YOU LEVEL STATS
My Stats are important to me because they allow me to take a bit more harass from feeble heroes that would not dare step into the proximity of the Ball-less Skeleton King.

MID GAME: 10-15

Okay, if you haven't already, START GANKING. Like seriously, you are Skeleton King and you haven't swung your sword at any one's face yet? Start helping your worthless teammates by always ganking first with your Hell Fire Blast, then head straight for their testicles/ovaries. When you are tower diving for a kill, try to tank the enemies tower for your namby-pamby teammates.

When leveling the rest of you skills, you need to asset the siituation. If you are taking crazy damage from melee heroes, you should level Vampire Aura.
WHAT ITEMS SHOULD I HAVE BY NOW?
Okay, assuming you have Power Treads, if you don't have this yet, I would recommend just abandoning the game now. Just kidding, I buy this for goldbefore you finish your Power Treads.
HOW DO I TEAM FIGHT?
Analyze the enemy team. Ask your self,"Who is producing the most damage?". Now target that person with Hell Fire Blast, then activate your Armlet, and make sure to type in all chat "YOU GET NOTHING" if your Reincarnation gets used.

A Force Staff Mutha ****as!!!! Really, It is an awesome item on this Manley Skeleton. It allows him to close the distance for a stun, or if you are a passive Skeleton King(NO YOU AREN'T), you can make like the Pope and Pull out.

I commend you for reading this far. I am positive that if you use your brain, and give my build some though, you can utilize it in the game that you are in. My Item build is tailored to any situation in my humble opinion.

Thanks for the Advice friend! I don't know if I would consider it a core item on Skeleton King, just because if he is loosing his lane this can be an awful item to have. I really like Soul Ring if I dominate my lane though. I think I am going to add that in my Early Game section.

When you start hitting upper tier games, you'll face more necronomicons. And when nerubian assassin hits the game mana burn will be a serious issue to deal with. And as for being a bad item if hes losing, I don't see how. It insures you always have mana for your ult, great regen for its price and good consistency with roaming ganks on your lane.

In upper tier games, players will wait for you to use soul ring and then use mana burn.

Upvote for you. This is one of the only guides that's included a force staff which I've found to be extremely handy for that last chance escape or a sure kill when I force in an unsuspecting enemy hero.

Upvote for certain. Skeleton King was one of my first heros to use and I was super noob with him because I still didn't even know how to play DoTA. I came back to him months later following your guide and suddenly have a new favorite tank.
Not to mention the guide is just plain fun to read.

In my opinion, a Soul Ring is just about mandatory on SK in most games, especially with the release of Nyx and Keeper of the Light. In games with those heros, plus Riki, (with diffusal blade) Antimage, Lion; these are common picks that could **** your day up when you're expecting to reincarnate and you find yourself just points below the mana you need. The trick is just knowing when to use it.

No one on this site aside for a max of 5/6 players are in a position to be upper tier; and I can promise you not one of us on this site are front pagers. I think the soul ring is situational at best, you are right in respects to using it when you are in a bad position though.

Guide-wise, this was pretty straight forward, and a common/solid build. +1
