Pub stompin' Drow Ranger

Laning Phase

Your main focus is to last hit and the slippers and branches are very helpful for that. You should focus on getting the 2 wraith bands asap and get those courier'd to you. If possible, try harassing your laning opponent by orb walking so you and your team gets an advantage. As soon as you reach level 6 (or get treads, which ever ones first) gank one of the side lanes.

Mid game

By now you should have your two wraith bands, power treads set on agility and a shadow blade (or at least main components of it). Remember to continue ganking and try feed of their supports/casters. You can't pub stomp without repeatedly ganking the enemy =P

Personally i don't build lifesteal on drow, although i've noticed that hp is always a problem so make sure you get some sort of health regen (such as a hood)if not building lifesteal.

Late game

If you are playing a true pub game, your score should be something around 17-2-5.
Wraith bands can be sold for space and you should have : Treads, Shadow blade, Crystalys (or Daedelus)and other damage/survivability items.

It should be easy for you to siege unguarded towers whilst you wicked solo push as the rest of your incompetent team runs around still trying to get last hits. The enemy carry you should have shut down, leaving the game an easy win.

Conclusion

Drow Ranger is a great hero for new players trying out the carry role. Advanced players can easily win pub games with her due to the massive physical dps she can output early game.

If you liked this guide, please vote/thumbs up or whatever you're meant to do. This is my first guide btw =)

Constructive criticism is greatly appreciated.

Pretty basic guide, the build is good, I'll give you +1, but I think getting Manta Style and Helm of the Dominator faster is much better than Shadow Blade + Crystalys.

Because you get more damage, more attack speed, two illusions, armor and lifesteal.

You must survive too, not just deal damage.

shadow blade is great in a pub game, because some of the players don't want to spend on sentry ward, gem or dust of apperance.

Thank you for the feedback hades, but i believe that an escape mechanism is more important. As this guide is mainly for pub games, i don't expect many (or any) well organized teamfights which is why this build is designed to quickly pick off lone or easy targets.

Aragon, i agree completely! Very few people bother to counter invisibility which is why it works so well in pub matches.

I dislike the Shadow Blade as even pubs know how to counter your 3.3k item with 180 - 200g worth of items. At which point it becomes a waste because once you have it, ganks will be harder as a team will stick tighter and you wont be able to pick people off as easy.

It basically delays your lategame way too much and it's honestly a waste of a good item slot.

why would you get stats first in every build the frost arrow at level one can be very helpful to harass the enemy out of lane by orb walking and shadow blade is a complete waist of money on anyone besides kunka since even most pubs will counter it

Mask of Madness and Crystalys for your pubstomping needs.

About 80% of garena players built it in 2010.

I'd just like to remind everyone of an alternative skill build that is broadly disliked in the public but efficient nevertheless.

Basically you go stats instead of frost arrows. Now here is the catch with this skill build, you practically cannot and should not gank (unless there is a clear and easy kill for you), but rather stay in mid lane and rice farm like a boss.

The rationale behind this game style (which can really be used only in mid lvl games) is that if you are skilled enough with drow you can lasthit almost every creep and deny 70% of the opponents creeps, thus destroying his farm and xp gain. I personally have used this strat many times and it worked 7/10 games.

In this setup you would go HoTD and Manta which scales incredibly well with the stats build and makes you without a doubt the strongest hero in the mid game.

When going for this build, if you have Yasha and HoTD around lvl 12 (which you definitely should be able to pull off) you can and must solo Roshan after which you should be unstoppable and stomp the game.

I agree. Drow Ranger is very reliant on the farm she gets early to mid game. I build her in this manner as well and I have had success with it. +1 from me.
