Infesting the Jungle with N'iax

Maddog#211326

Introduction

Hello everyone my name is Maddog and today I am bringing you a guide to N'iax the Lifestealer. Lifestealer is a strength based hero who is able to absolutely shred high hp targets in the mid and late game. On top of that he is a great ganker and has a nasty habit of showing up and turning the tide of battle due to his ultimate. In this guide I hope to show you some explanations for the above item and skill build.

Pros / Cons

Pros
-Able to destroy high hp targets
-A built in BKB on his q
-Feast is one of the most versatile ultimates in the game
-Best lifesteal of any character.
-Near impossible to kill 1v1

Cons
-Only one disable with a shot duration
-Needs a lane with a reliable stun or slow to gank properly
-Extremely item dependent(He is a carry)

Skills

This is that built in BKB I was talking about. Not only does it let you wade into the enemy team with out fear of cc. It also increases your attack speed by 80% for 4.75. Great ability and just tons of fun.

Lifestealer's passive. And boy is it a doozy. This is what lets you destroy that pesky HoT champ in no time flat. It not only heals you for 7% of their current health, but it also DAMAGES THEM for the same amount. This ability along with Rage allows you to pump out pain like a belt fed MG-42.

This is your main ganking skill so we get a point early. We don't level it till later because the only thing that improves is the lifesteal bonus and the cooldown. I often throw this on a runner during a gank. Its a great slow, but its short duration does not make it ideal for initiation. One note this ability also grants lifsteal to your allies for not only their auto attacks, but their spells as well. Miss Inverse is smiling.

This is it. Infest, in my opinion one of the the most stupidly powerful ultimates in the game. This thing can be used to: escape a gank, return to full health, cause a massive aoe nuke to the enemy team in the middle of a team fight, give the enemy a false sense of security, and last but not least it lets you get inside Traxxex. Which from the forum posts I've read seems to be everybody's priority. I will be giving a more in depth explanation of this skills uses in another section.

Starting Items

Fairly straight forward.

Makes your jungle easier and lets you survive your own ganks better.

Lets you regen if you need to before a gank.

Core Items

Great boots on N'iax. Gives everything a growing cannibal needs. AS stats and MS. Easily lets you switch between the stats you for the situation.

Armlet One of the most if not the most important item on N'iax. Because of his life leech he can use during just about any fight. And once he gets it he becomes a true creature to be feared. Armlet is to him what blink dagger is to Axe. Yes he's formidable before it, but once he has it the enemy team start running like Treants from an inferno.

Amazing damage, amazing armor shred. Though tanks were a joke before? Well now their just sad. For a mere 4400 gold you become the single most dangerous character on the map. Not only do you deal near true damage on squishy carries, but you'll make the tank you just ate before hand scream OP OP in chat.

More armor reduction? Check. More armor for yourself? Check. More attack speed for you? Check. All of these are auras and stats on it? Hell yeah. Your team will thank you, but don't lie, you bought it for yourself.

Luxury Items

What? Why the hell would you have 2 ORBS you noob? Your just going to cancel out your Desolator. Relax, just relax. As of Dota 2 a fun new change was put in. Mjolnir now only applies ON PROC. This means that the orb is only active when it works so that means that it's desolator the rest of the time. And with a 7 second duration on the debuff for desolator I doubt you need to worry about it.

This is probably the most hotly contested item on N'iax. While many feel that the bash makes up for his cc so much that it should be a core item. I beg to differ. While the bash is nice its percentage is so low that it's rarely procs when you need it. N'iax just doesn't have the AS. Yes Rage gives you AS but at max level that is not even for 5 seconds. I would rather rush my Desolator and Assault Cuirass. I will grab this though if someone as already gotten Assault Cuirass.

Daedalus size-64 If the game just won't end then get this. If they weren't melting before they will be now.

If you feel that you need more health and not more damage then get this, but honestly, Your murder on 4 limbs not a tank.

Infest Tricks

It slices! It dices! It makes the entire enemy team smash their faces on their keyboards! It's Infest! As I've stated multiple times Infest is one of the most amazing ultimates in the game. yes i know every guide for every hero claims that, but I doubt Zeus's is used for much more that killing.

Who Does Infest Work on?
On just about everyone, but their are exceptions.
-Ancients
Sorry but all ancients are immune to being your latest shell.
-Roshan
Ah if only
-Enemies Heroes
Sorry no keeping your enemies closer.

Escaping Ganks
So lets say your in the lane farming like a boss when all of a sudden you simultaneously hear a hook rattling from the trees, see axe warp is bright red *** in, and suddenly see a black hole in front of you. Well first of all they are dumb for wasting all of that, but second you don't need to panic. If you see it coming pop your rage and run like a ***** TOWARDS the enemy creep wave. If you don't well then pray you got enough health to survive. Either way once you are at the enemy creep wave find the highest health ENEMY caster creep you can and hop in. Now just sit back and laugh. They can't kill the the creep and your safe as long as it lives. Ride the creep till your team mates show up or till they leave you alone. Then pop back out (with extra health I might add.) and continue to be awesome.

Surviving a Rough Team Fight
You just got into a team fight and even though you won you cam out a little worse for wear. No need to fear you just need a snack. Walk into a camp find the biggest mother there. Pop in. Pop out. Eat his buddies. Now you can rejoin your allies an pushing the lane and taking that base.

Super Initiation
Easy peasy. Hop in the nearest blink dagger monkey and wait till he jumps in. Let him cc and then say hello to all the beautiful people.
