Indtroduction to Tidehunter

Tidehunter is a pretty good Character that has nice Splash damage and good Stun AND Slow. Has 3 active abilities that can Nuke with his Gush and decrease enemies damage with his Anchor Smash. And don't forget his Ravage that can stun for 3 seconds and reach a MASSIVE 1025 Radius. Has a lot of roles such as a initiator, disabler, durable, support

This is story of Tidehunter:The Tidehunter known as Leviathan was once the champion of the Sunken Isles, but his motives are as mysterious as those of his people. We all know the importance of the Drylanders' shipping lanes, how empires may rise and fall according to who controls the open water. Far less is known of the submarine lanes, and how the warring tribes of the Meranthic Diaspora have carved out habitations through endless undersea skirmishes. In the fragile treaties between the Mer and Men, we can glimpse the extent of the drowned empires, but their politics appear complex and opaque. It would seem that Leviathan tired of such petty strife, and set off on his own, loyal only to his abyssal god, Maelrawn the Tentacular. He stalks the shallows now in search of men or meranths who stray into his path, and with a particular loathing for Admiral Kunkka, who has long been his nemesis for reasons lost in the deepest trenches of the sea.

Items

The starting items for a Jungling [Tidehunter] are :
2 tangos,1 clarity,and 2 gauntlet of strength.
After your jungling phase you should already have [Boots of speed], [Magic Wand], [Bracers] and some [Town portal scrolls]
In the late game you could and should rush for an [Refresher Orb] and get a {Heart of Tarasque] for some more health regenerations that means less trips to the fountain. And will make you ready for each team fight.

There are some situational Items that could be considered if you are in a Hurry.
- [Radiance] Can be used to damage your enemies by Burning them with some considerable damage and gives you some extra Strength as Damage. that can be useful if you are trying to chase some fast moving enemies after Hitting them with your [Gush]
- [Mjolnir] At your max level [TideHunter] would have a pretty good attack speed.. Imagine making him faster at hitting the enemies and could make you a carry with the [Assault Cuirass]
- [Refresher] Well this item is a must but i put it here because a Heart of Tarasque can add you're health and make you the REAL tank.

Skills

Tidehunter has 3 active ablities and 1 passive abilty
GUSH

Summons a gush of water to damage an enemy unit, reducing their movement speed and armor. Lasts 4 seconds. Useful for Last hitting,Slowing while decreasing the targets armor the target so no one can Escape

Kraken Shell

Creates a thick armor shell that reduces physical damage and removes negative buffs when damage received reaches a critical threshold. Kraken Shell does not stack with items that provide Damage Block.

Damage Reduction: 10 / 20 / 30 / 40
Damage Threshold: 600 / 550 / 500 / 450
This ability can remove certain debuffs such as [Dismember], And [fiend's grip] after it reaches a certain damage threshold. But this does not remove damage from [Maledict], [Doom], and [Fury Swipes].

Anchor Smash

Tidehunter swings his mighty anchor to damage nearby enemies and reduce their base attack damage.

The enemy will fly in the air for 0.52 seconds
    Hits and Stuns invisible units
    Goes in 775 movement speed

Creeping / Jungling

After you have a level 4 Kraken shield Plus your stout shield you are basically Immune to any Creep either the ones in Jungle or the normal ones will deal no damage except the Alpha Wolf's critical, and Centaurs... By the way in the early game You could and Should Use your Anchor smash to reduce the Damage of the creeps only if necessary. If theres a lot of creeps charging to your tower,You have the Ability to stop and and earn Money from them. But if you are accompanied by a Good [Bounty Hunter] you should abandon the first point in Kraken shell and replace it with Gush, and exchange Anchor Smash with Kraken Shell and Hunt together... "Tidehunter let us hunt together" said Bounty Hunter.

But after using [Tidehunter] a few times i Think,in My opinion that jungling takes too much time and makes you a little under-farmed and miss some Teamfight chances PLUS, a invisible or an undetectable heroes (Invisible) could gank you and kill you while you are low on health Because you dont have any life steals to regenerate your health So yeah be carefull while Jugling and set up some wards to have some vision. But that's is my opinion

Team Work

In EVERY teamfight your role as a [Tidehunter] is super important Because you have a Large radius and Stuns, And dont forget the gush that could easily Nuke squishy Heroes such as {sniper], [weaver], [Bounty hunter], [Riki], and his squishy friends

Works wonders with Heroes that relies on long stuns or large AOE damage such as [Disruptor], [Kunkka], [Lich], [Enigma] special mentionn on him, [Magnus], [Crystal Maiden], {Phoenix], And a whole lot of heroes to mention.

How to start a Teamfight:

First, you could Blink to where the enemy attacks and Activate ravage before you get stunned
Second, Unleaash your Anchor Smash close to heroes that rely on auto attack, and Cast Gush on the squishy guys or the escapers to slow en down and make it easier to you and your team to kill'em.
Third, Go auto attack and let your friends cast their Game changing Ultimates special mention on {Black Hole]

If you already have a Refresher orb you would likely use it after you have finishe step 1,2,and 3, too deal MORE damage and a longer Stun

Pros and Cons

Pros:
-Has a good Stun and in a large radius
- Act's as one GOOD support
- Long range Nuke that can slow and can decrease the enemies armor ([Gush])
- Can decrease the enemies damage by 40 percent
-Totally immune to some neutral creeps when his [Kraken Shell] reaches level 3
-Hits invisible Enemy units with his {ravage]
-Works wonders with Any hero (most)

Cons:
-His Ultimate ability takes too long too refresh (on my opinion)
-His level 1 [Kraken Shell] is nearly USELESS except when its level 2 so theres a good point to invest A point in it.
-Cannot Solo medium health Heroes
-Easy to gank with no escape skills
- Does NOT work well with team mates that cannot work together.
- Cannot fight 5 people at a time.

- Don't go anywhere alone, Except you have a blink dagger.

Friends and Foes

The friends of a [Tidehunter] are the people who deal Large damage but in a small radius/Has a Delay So your role is extremely important in each fight. Those Guys are:
-[Phoenix]: It's Ultimate ([Supernova]) can be used to burn the enemies some more and let him Reincarnate Safely
-[Zeus]: Combined with his Ultimate ([Thunder god's Wrath] You can dish out MASSIVE damage and can finish the teamfight much Much faster.s Ultimate and his
-[Warlock]: By activating your Ultimate you can stun the enemies and give his Golem more time to crush your enemies
-[Sand King]: You can Deal MASS damage with his [Epicenter] and his [Burrow Strike] to make the enemies disabled and cannot move far enough to dodge his [Epicenter]
-[Lich]: Your Ultimate can give his [Chain Frost] much more time to bounce on enemy units. And in the early game combined with your [Gush] and his [Frost Blast] you can instantly kill a [Sniper],[Weaver], and their other squishy friends.
-[Bane]: His [Brain sap] and your [Gush] could also kill squishy guys
- [Kunkka]: His [Torrent] and his [Ghost Ship] can deal massive damage already even if Combined with your [Ravage]

Foes:

- [Kunkka]: Well he is your Nemesis... his skills... can counter your Ravage...
- [Juggernaut]: well after he builds his Boots he will be faster than you and will absolutely kill in a instant with his [Bladefury] and kill you with his [Omnislash] and... you're done.
- [Luna]: when she reaches level 6 or level 3 her [Lunar Beam] can deal MASSIVE damage and can kill you in an instant...
- [Lina]: Her attack speed and her spells can vaporize you Instantly.

When to pick Tidehunter...

- Your team need a Disabler that can stun a lot of heroes in an instant..
- The team needs a Tanker
- The team needs more close range heroes heroes
- Suggested by teammates
- Your enemies aren't that bad for you
-You already know how to use [Tidehunter]
- Your friends are on the list above or is in the category.
