Introduction

Hello everybody ! Its my first guide for DOTA2 heroes, so please give me any comments that can make me better :D
First at all, i must tell you i didn't know how the guide interface will be. So forgive me if the interface is not so nice for your eyes.
BTW English is not my main language, so please consider if there are many misused words in this guide. TY.

FYI : I use this build every time i play CM and i can support well but not feeding as well. So many in the games i got 0 death and XX/XX Kill Assist. Well many of the kill are gotten from KS accident (NOT INTENDED)

About The Hero

My first guide will be for Crystal Maiden, my favorite hero.
If you pick CM for the game, you must know that you will play a fragile hero that has wonderful spell. A ganker with 2 nasty spells and nasty aura. And remember that you will play a hero that has nice team fight presence in war.
Many people said that CM is a ward b*tch and feeding hero, but i don't think so. With some trick, you can survive longer to support your friends, or even stay alive and kill them all !
So if you already know about all of that, lets go to the next chapter !

Pro & Con

Pro
- 2 NASTY ganking spell
- A very NASTY aura
- Doesn't need many gold
- And many others that you already know

Con
- VERY slow movement speed
- Very fragile
- Not-so-many base mana
- Not-so-hurt base attack damage
- And many other that you already know

When to pick her ?

YES if
- Many of your teammate are mana independed
- Your team need ganker / support
- You team need MORE ganker (chain disable)
- Enemies pick blink-heroes (AM,QOP)

NO if
- Your team need tank
- Your team need carry
- Your team already have many ganker / support

and many other conditions that you will realize soon after you play her for a lot of time

Skill Build

Well you can see her skill build above there, but you will need the explanation

Q : Crystal Nova or Frostbite as the first skill ?
A : Look at your team heroes since usually you will get the first blood. Your teammate have slow ? Pick Bite. Stun ? Pick Nova. You won't pick nova if your teammate already has slow since the slow didn't stack, but you can Bite the enemy first, then your teammate slow them. Vice versa for the Nova.
Its more effective to have FB this way.

Q : Why up Bite first then Nova ?
A : nova's slow stay the same for all level. Bite will make you more effective as a ganker.

Q : No FF at level 6 ?
A : FF is more useful when used in war. Usually war happen at mid game, around level 10-11. You get the point :D

Early Game

As a support, you must give your team ward or courier. If someone already buy the courier, buy the ward, vice versa.
Other than one of those 2 support items, you will need a tango, 2 clarities, and a ring of protection that you will upgrade to tranquil.

So the explanation for this item set ;
-Tango : For HP regeneration of course
-Clarity : Early level your aura wont give you enough mana to keep your mana to Bite-Slow combo. Early clarity will help.
-Ring of Protection : For Tranquil of course

In early game usually you will go bot with another stunner for Radiant or top for Dire for FB. After the FB, go teleport to the hard lane and laning there.

Why not early roam ? I agree if CM is a great hero for early roam as she has that 2 nasty spell, but with always roaming she will be very underleveled since her ms make her take more time to go between lane. I'm not saying that a support must has higher level than anyone else, but with that underleveled, you will be more easier to kill and make your enemy get more money and experience.

Many people said that CM feeder is normal since she is very fragile, but I must said that CM can be played not as a feeder with some proper playing.I will explain it later.

Mid Game

You must have already have tranquil now.
Keep ward and dust if needed ( don't become the spam-ward type, 2 wards with nice placing are more effective than 4 wards with non so effective place)
Look at your enemies heroes now. In this time you will use your ultimate in the war often ( after bite nova i think). Choose the item that will help you keep the channeling longer. The choices are :
- BKB : no explanation needed (remember for spells that don't care about bkb)
- Blink : If there are an innitiator in your team ( not so great for escape mechanism)
- SB : Your enemy didnt pick BH or SLardar or doesn't often buy dust / gem (nice for escape mechanism too)

BTW, if still there no mekansm in your team, but it first !

maybe some of you will say, "where the money come from ?!". I said you can buy it if you didnt feed your enemy early game. With your ganking, you will get enought money to buy them.

In this phase you will roam often with your friends in enemy's jungle and many other places. Your 2 nasty spell's effectivess are the highhest in this phase.

If your gold income is not so promising, you can get other cheaper items that usefull too
-Eul-> Cheap composition, nice disable, make you faster
-Force Staff -> cheap escaping way if used correctly

Late Game

Buy Necromicon to help push any to counter invisible enemies.
Buy Vladmir if there are many melee heroes in your team
Buy Jenggo if your team stil didnt got it
And many other else you already know :D

Stick with your team and keep pushing to the throne ! 3 items above make you have some pushing power for your team also.

In war, choose the right timing to use your ulti. the right timing are when :
- your team initiator already initiate
- your enemies focused on other heroes (usually tank)

Before that time coming, support your team with your spells and items
