Black Is Back (Broodmother Carry)

Introduction

Hello all, this is my first guide on dotefire but i felt like sharing my build for broodmother because i found it worked great for me, here i go. Broodmother can be a very dangerous hero if played correctly. I personally like playing Broodmother as a mid hero but if i have to i will lane in any lane my team needs me to seeing as brood can lane wherever. For the best result and the most farm try to solo lane, preferably mid and jungling wont be such a good idea for brood even with her spiderlings.

*Side note.
Don't mid with brood if you are new to the mid lane and if you do mid don't push the tower right away. i usually wait till after i killed them once or twice before i start pushing. by this time they are usually laning somewhere else and leave me alone at mid.

Playing Early Mid

If you plan on playing mid this guide is perfect for you as it builds an aggresive mid hero also one that can last in the lane for most of the game. Level up your spin web first and place it in the middle leaning more towards your tower side.
You should have an easy time laning against a single target hero but aoe heroes could harrass you a lot, play it safe when vsing an aoe hero. When playing mid try not to push past the middle and try to harass the enemy hero enough to get them out of lane. You should be able to get first blood if you follow the skill build i have.
After reaching level 6 and the enemy hero has been harrassed enough where 1/4 of their health is gone activate your ulti and auto attack the hero, if he fights back you are most likely to win it and if he runs he won't be very succesful due to your slow, try to do this when they are close to your tower and dont risk tower diving for the kill unless you are certain of it.

Pushing

you should be able to push effectively once you finish your battle fury, your push ability should be at its peak, at this point you should have spawn spiderlings at level 3 or maybe even maxed start using them to push while you're going for last hits for maximum farm. Stay mid till you push two towers down and if they are forcing a team fight mid and your team doesnt really need you start pushing in another lane but try stayng mid so you can solo push and get the farm before the big team fights start happening. Now that we have talked about pushing lets talk about something more interesting.

Carrying

Most people are reluctant when i play brood as mid but when the game is over i usually change their mind about brood mother. Brood might seem like a squishy character but if you have the right build for her she can be one of the hardest heros to kill and a very reliable late game hero if farmed. A lot of times when i use this build i have usually go flawless or i get a max of 2 deaths, it mainly depends on the heroes you're facing and how you adjust your play style to counter them.

Item Analysis

Sometimes (depending on enemy team layout) i rush the boots of speed and just get tangos with them because i know the enemy's mid won't be much of a problem to me and i am confident with my last hitting skills. but boots are vital for speed especially with your webs.

This item is a must have due to its damage and its cleave ability which makes farming and pushing a lot easier i get the void stone first and finish my perservance ring before i go for the damage items but this is usually what comes next after boots of speed.

Yasha is another must have item and great item especially for chasing enemy heroes down once mixed with your web you will be zooming through you lane and become a hard target for both enemy heroes and towers (if in your web) i also like it for its agility and you can upgrade it if necessary.

You might have noticed i didn't have this earlier on thats because i like to rush my vital items early before i get this extra damage and speed boost but once you have all the items listed above you can start building brood to adjust to the situation whether it be a tankier build or more dps it your choice at this point.

Situational

I like going for soul booster after getting all my core items i go for the soul booster for the survivability and more mana that way i wont be such an easy hero to kill and i can spam my spiderlings each time cool down is off.

This item is most likely to end up in your inventory due to all enemy heroes trying to counter you. If your team is willing get them to buy you a gem if not farm up for one and walk along your webs when it is safe to and deward the enemy heroes, don't risk walking your webs if you don't know where the enemy heroes are because most likely they are waiting for you to make a move. If you get dusted i would suggest just running away because there is nothing else you can really do.

Abyssal blade is great late game item if you have the money for it because it guarantees a kill due to its stun and damage but don't go for this item if you think you will die going for it, it gets frustrating trying to save that much money if you have a lot saves but not enought for the blade just go for a crystal to a deadalus.

Quick summary.

Broodmother can be built in many different ways but if you have the right build for her you will be a hero to be feared.
Points to remember.
This is a solo lane / Mid build.

. Farm up for Battle fury right away start with perseverance then upgrade it.

.HARASS HARASS and HARASS the mid heroes it prevents their farm and can push them off the lane.

.I recommend phase boots for the extra damage, should help with first blood or just 1 vs 1 situations.

.I usually stay mid most of the game and push down tier 1 and tier 2 before they bring the team fights mid.

.prevent team fighting as much as possible and focus on pushing the other tier 1 towers down.

.get a gem if enemy is warded up or focus on their hero with the gem first but don't always rely on your invisibility you web is more than just invisibility, ity gives you speed.

.spend your money right away to prevent losing a lot of it, build items little by little dont have big money in your inventory

.Dont rely too much on your web for invisibility, its good for that but its also good for the speed which can be useful in certain situations.

Heroes to look out for

Like i said Almost all Aoe heroes have a good potential against you especially the non targeted ones so i wont bother listing them but other heroes that you should look out for are...

Due to bounty's ulti he is able to track you for about 30 seconds and in those 30 seconds you will be visible and bounty and any enemy around you will have boosted speed. To prevent this just don't show yourself when bounty is around but if its only him you shoul be able to kill him as long as you have a gem.

Slardar is similar to bounty but on top of him giving true sight of enemies under his ulti he also takes away armor from that unit, he also has an aoe stun that when it makes contact it does damage to the enemies. Slardar also has a speed boost so id say slardar is a hero to stay clear of.

Viper is a very annoying hero to 1 vs 1 against due to his movement slow and attact speed slow, when you have your ulti activated his attack slow will make it useless since you wont make much contact with viper i would say if in a situation like that try to hide in your webs if your webs arent around you're going to have to fight him because running away will get you killed.

Conclusion

Well thats the end of my first guide, i will probably be updating as i get more suggestions and more ideas come to my mind but tank you all for taking the time to read this guide. Please leave constructive criticism on this post so i know what to improve on or what to change, also leave a comment on what you thought of the guide and if you end up using this guide take a screen shot of your score or leave a comment on how you did.
